Is this perhaps the earliest CP campaign in eRepublik history? Well, don't worry, I'm not going to be posting any serious campaign articles till at least a week before the elections.
Instead I'd just like to announce that i am actively running as candidate for president of the eNetherlands.
I have already been in private talks with a number of political parties, discussing policies, how THEY think the government and country should be run as well as projects which they'd like to see established over the upcoming months.
I think the role of country president in eRepublik is very overrated.
The only real power you have is to assign the Ministers and organize the government, everything else you can do can be done by congress.
So over the next few weeks I'll be finding out how YOU think the country should be ran and what YOU think needs to be done.
And to sum up the campaign, closer to the country president elections I'll be publishing a set of policies/projects, from me as well as other politicians in the eNetherlands which will be implemented during my term.

Missingno, you are forgetting the 3 mandatory meetings with EDEN HQ, on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Then there are often extra meetings, as I had yesterday, to discuss new tensions between full member Turkey, and pro-EDEN state Iran. It took 4 hours.
btw, this job isn't about power; it's about the willingness to serve your nation. To do this job good, you really have to put in a lot of time.

Plus the CP is responsible for EVERYTHING that goes on during their term. Simply being elected and finding ministers and letting congress handle the rest isn't a good way to look at leading the country. As VS said, there's many other things that go on and take up time that I doubt a lot of people are ready for.
And how exactly has that 4 hours sitting in an IRC channel helped our country?
Perhaps instead of 4 hours you could spend a few minutes in the MoFA forum where a great idea (posted in February) is lying idle.
I also do not see you active in media or on the forum reviewing or announcing these meetings you say you go to. For all i know you do nothing all term. Which is what a lot of people have been telling me.
Perhaps more articles from you would be a step forward?
I for one would have liked to of known what you discussed for 4 hours, maybe you can publish it in an article?

Well if you get elected, we'll see how ignoring EDEN meetings treats us. I'm trying to be neutral in this little whatever, but you can't pretend to act like you know what goes on in EDEN meetings and how it might effect eNetherlands. 4 hours does seem excessive, but I've heard of meetings taking a lot longer than that.
To counteract what you've heard.. I've heard that van Spijck is on quite a lot and spends more time than probably most of us do on this game.
I don't think being CP will be as easy as you think, or at least make it seem.
The job of CP is important but what I think missingno wants to say, is: a CP is as good as his team. Without a good group of people in the government, the job will fail. No matter how good the CP in person is. So I like the idea of missingno to invite people to think along.

Media activity is important but it cannot be an empty shell. I for myself have seen too many mediaproductive CP's in the past that did in fact achieve nothing during their term or let the ministers do all the work indeed (in more than case Van Spijck being the MoFa, pretty much being the face of eNL abroad). Doll 🙂
