A talk with: CPresident Taulen.

Day 2,917, 06:57 Published in Norway Norway by Zinitus

It has been a long time since last "A talk with:" and I will try to make up for it by this interview with our CPresident Taulen. It was maken onboard the presidental Air Force One on the way to the last G62 Summit.

Northern Light (NL): Mr CPresident! You have an long life in this game. For new gamers, tell us little about yourself in real life, and your eRepublikan life and history!

CPresident Taulen: I’m a 28 year old guy from Norway IRL, I joined the game very early in the game, back in february of 2008, but I did quit, and leave the game for almost 2 years between 2008 and 2010, but since I came back in 2010 I have been online every day, and have a workstreak of 1718 days. I have been CP 5 times now, even tho I only have 4 medals, I was once “elected” CP when no one decided to run for CP a month earlier this year… I have had many positions in Government, mainly MoD for probably 2 years combined.

NL: Why did you choose to run for election this time?

CPresident Taulen: To be honest I normally only run for election to be a placeholder in case nobody else runs for the position, so what happened earlier this year dont happen again, and to make sure no random players get elected, I did really believe someone else more interested would run this month, but didn’t, so I was elected, and as always, I will do the work, and make sure Norway wont be hurt by me being CP for a month, I always do whats in the best interest of Norway, so I managed to put together a government that I am pleased with. But in Norway we really rely upon the Congress, they are the people with the power in Norway, and since we have a Dictator in Delirium90 I dont even have any power ingame 😉

NL: Mr. CPresident, You won the election, what do you see as the biggest challenges for eNorway today ?

CPresident Taulen: We recently have some problems with a few guys from Chile trying to stir up some trouble, they “liberated” Norway from our elected Dictator. But I dont foresee any problems there. And other than that we dont really have any big challenges that no other country have, too few active people, not enough newcomers joining, and to defend against potential hostile attacks, like the AS we had recently, and to make sure we try to have as high activity as possible, both ingame and on our forum.

NL: And how to deal with it? What are your goals for this CP-period?

CPresident Taulen: The problem with activity is nothing I can do alone, and something I dont think anyone can do something about, maybe unless Plato, making some HUGE changed to the game to bring back older players, and at the same time get new players interested, and actually staying longer than a couple of weeks maximum, most new players only play the game for a day or two…

The one goal I have this month is to get back the rental agreement we had with UK, that is something that can help us financially and help UK getting more bonuses.

NL: We saw a rare and heated political discussion last week, what`s your judgement of that issue? Should we have such debates more often to gain more political competition?

CPresident Taulen: My opinion on that was clearly stated in the internal threads, and nothing I would like to continue on in the public. Those debates might help momentarily, but thats in no way a good road to go to get more political activity and competition. Only a few days have passed, and most have already forgotten about it, or just dont care anymore.

NL: You also run a lot of game administration, how is your views and experience towards Plato and the dictatorship consept?

CPresident Taulen: What Plato is doing is just making money for their investors, and they are really good at doing that, and actually something I admire, is it good for the game, IMo I dont think so, is it necessary for the game to continue living on, I think so, as soon as the creators are losing money on it, it will be gone, and all the stuff that made this game popular in the beginning is gone a long time ago.

I dont think Plato got the outcome they wanted with the Dictatorship, instead of becoming a new way to fight, and PTO a country it became a way to be more safe from that, it did of course implement a new side to the game, and in its own way its interesting, and the way it is now, I like it as a way to keep my own country safer, but it didnt give us more activity.

NL: Our last question is about the foreign affairs, what should be the eNorways way to go in your opinion?

CPresident Taulen: I want eNorway to stay without an alliance, but continuing supporting our allies as good as we can, we should not make any big changes. We know who our friends are, and they know we will be here. If there for some reason are going to be huge change in relationships, something that happens from time to time we will of course take a closer look at where we want to go, but that wont happen in my term.

NL: Mr CPresident - thank you for the interview!
