A Message to all Canadians: I'm going AFK.

Day 1,668, 18:34 Published in Canada Canada by Niko Snow

To all eCanadians,

Are you:
-Not interested in joining or being expected to join Forums and IRC?
-Already a member of said groups but tired of the same old routines?
-Not interested in abandoning your country?
-Not interested in the powerless Constitution?
-Not interested in getting too deep into the roleplaying?
-Interested in playing eRepublik in a sensible manner?

Then join The AFK Party of eCanada!

Winter is Here, Boys and Girls.

I, Tyrael Snow, am now National Rank #50 here in Canada.

I would like to attribute this to my hard work and dedication, but in truth, a lot of it boils down to the mass exodus of experienced Canadians tired of our societal fractures. Many have quit, others remain idle, and still others two-click through the day. Belittled by their brethren who remained dedicatedly attached to Rizon and eCanada.

It is for this reason I take my party in yet another new bold direction:
A complete 180 of my former ambitions to further engorge myself in stacks of google spreadsheets and miserable bickering on various channels and messages, in truth.

I aim to establish a True Libertarian Party.

But what does that really mean?
We have several parties which claim to be Libertarian.
What's so different about the AFK Party?

We do not recognize the power nor validity of the eCanadian government sitting in any of the Forums and IRC chatrooms, as their powers are entirely conjurations existing only within the framework of their domain names.

In addition, we recognize the limitations of the game in it's present form to maintain a stable economy. The destruction of the international currency market along with the lower quantity of Platobot purchases means we need to be more protective against foreign imports.

We respect their goals and ambitions of all those involved in the eCanadian government. But let's be honest here...

How much time and energy is lost bickering on Constitutional details which hold no water within the very real framework of the game?

How much anxiety and tension in personal lives has been created from the addiction to the role-playing aspect of this game that once upon a time helped it stay alive and popular?

Forums and IRC are now considered primitive and outdated technologies.
We must embrace this and move forward.

There are only but a few powers vested into elected officials in the codework of eRepublik, and our government goals will reflect such in the most strategic manner possible, with no consideration towards past bad blood between parties.

But these dreams, this platform, is all but a dream for now. We have but 5 members, and the top 5 all bicker.

In the past election, once we were shunted from the ballot by the larger parties, I nominated Rylde. I did so because he best repressed our values:
A tried and true hard working bureaucrat who embraces wholeheartedly the ridiculousness of the environment he was playing within.

We have much higher goals than the complete dissolution of the government as you know it. We intend to lead an effective and strategic platform. It's articles to be outlined in greater detail here. With prettier formatting and more.

The highlight of my goal is this: To begin a constructive discussion of game design over the Political module of eRepublic.

What is a Republic without it's Constitution?

It is no Republic at all, for the Constitution is the contract which guarantees the powers and limitations of all members of that society.

In future messages I intend to unveil to you all a preliminary version of our political platform with regards to all real customizable aspects within the game with regards to the government.

For now, I urge you, vote, subscribe, and/or join if this message strikes a chord in your heart.
