What is IRC?

WHAT IS IRC?

IRC (Internet Relay Chat) is the real-time chat system. It’s the chat system most commonly used by the highly active parts of the eRep population. In the eUS, the top 5 parties, the United States Armed Forces, numerous militias, Congress, and the Executive all have one or more IRC channels. It’s an important form of communication, and usually a quicker way to get things done than through forums or in-game PMs.

GETTING ON IRC & REGISTERING AN ACCOUNT

The main network used by eRep players is the Rizon network. For those of you new to IRC (which you probably are if you’re reading this), the simplest way to connect is Rizon’s own qwebirc software.



For your nickname, try to use your eRep name (note: spaces aren’t allowed in nicks, so if there is a space in yours, use an underscore instead (example: Agent_Washington)).

For the channel you want to join, check the “Useful channels” list later in this article. Those are all public, relatively newb-friendly channels.

From here, you can just start chatting if you want. But you may want to register your nickname, which would stop other people from being able to take it.

To register: /msg nickserv register mypassword you@validemail.com

The password you pick must be longer than 5 characters, and the email must be one that you can check. You will get an email from service@rizon.net with a confirmation code.

To enter the confirmation code: /msg nickserv confirm confirmationCode

Now you have a registered name! Each time you log on with that nickname, you will have to enter the password. There’s two ways to do this if you’re using qwebirc. The first is to check the box that says “Identify to NickServ” on the connection page, then enter your password (see picture above). The other, more general, way is the identify comman😛 /msg nickserv identify password

Citizen Progams

Here is one program that a citizen may take advantage of to help themselves. The following is but one of such programs, it does two things: (a) it supply citizens with much needed cash, gold or weapons (b) it encourage activity.



Personal Missions is an excellent privately funded program through which you may earn food or cash, for me the best part is you may earn up to 450 cc per article; per week.The Department of Interior receives no funding from the government, even though the government claims it and encourages activity; the DoI is currently having a fundraiser -so if you can GIVE TILL IT HURTS.

If you are a newer player or someone just hasn’t passed by levels 20-30 yet, and you haven’t upgraded all of your training grounds yet, there’s good news. You don’t have to do it alone!

Originally created by Arrden, currently directed by Trickstir under the Department of Interior, BU2SU advertises the mentality “High in Strength, Low in Level”. BU2SU is a program in which you are provided gold funded by private donations with the goal of helping you get all four of those training grounds to their max level to speed you along the way of tanking your way to battles won, battle hero trophies, and simply becoming a damage dealing beast!

To acquire the funding provided by this program, you must fill out a GOOGLE SPREADSHEET daily with the appropriate information. You must fill this sheet out at least five days out of seven every week to be given the MINIMAL gold reward provided by the program. Gold rewards are then handed out every one or two weeks.

It has been said that the gold rewards you receive from this program are decided by your activity in eRepublik based on things such as, "Activity and involvement with in-game Political Parties, Military Units, IRC" as well as activity on the eUSA forums; and remember to fill out the form every day to maximize your gold rewards! You only need to fill it out five out of seven days but in this situation- the more, the better.

DoI Stock Market

After reading the most recent update from the Department of the Interior, it seems that things are looking up in the eRepublik Stock Market. DoI Secretary IndexInfinity reported that the Stock Market activity has been the most that has been seen in a while. There is currently over $500,000 invested as of their last writing.

If you are economically minded and enjoy the idea of possibly making money, then working as your own Stock Trader/Analyst might just be for you. The value of all the stocks in the DoI program are connected to the rounded value of real life stocks whose identities are not known to the player. This enhances the RL feel to the game because just like on Wall Street, players can monitor the changes in value and try to predict the direction of the stocks.

First time investors are assigned an Investor ID and can check stock purchases and keep an eye on the stocks they own by clicking on the second page of the Stock Market Google Doc. As with any venture where there is risk, the DoI warns: This is a Department of Interior program, and is solely designed to make the game more enjoyable. It is not an attempt to replace the current economic system. Based on how you invest, you can lose money. The value of the stocks will fluctuate, making it very possible that you could lose money in the process of investing. To insure safety of the players money, all transactions are logged through a secure Google Docs sheet that is double checked, managed by an entire team and checked by multiple people.

War Map and Update

Poland and Argentina have finally joined battle. This war should be one for the ages, unless someone runs away. Poland has won the first engagement, running away with Catalonia by at least 86-6. Let's see how Argentina does in the next one. Don't go running away now.

Canada and Argentina are having a field day with the United Kingdom. They have won five and six battles, respectfully. The eUK is down to three regions. If I were them, I'd start thinking about an Air Strike to India. 🙂

Mexico and Columbia have opened a new War. Mexico is currently winning in Caribe e Insular. Good luck our Southern friends.

Croatia and Serbia are twenty two battles deep in their current war. It's been very back and forth, with neither gaining a definitive upper hand. Croatia is currently winning in Federation of BiH. This looks to continue for a very long time.

Turkey is taking care of business with Iran. They are currently winning in Semnan, easily. Iran should be gone from the region soon, but they will not be wiped. If you take a close look at India, it has become the place to live if you don't want to be wiped. It's very generous of India to be so accommodating.

There are many other skirmishes out there, but I'll let you take a peak at what else is out there.
