Today’s WHPR
1. 6% Tax Voted Down, Rate Remains at 8%
2. All Quiet on the American Front
3. Upcoming Congressional Elections
6% Tax Bill Voted Down
Over the past week, the eUS Congress has had a long and extended discussion on lowering the tax rate in the eUS. Many arguments were presented, and two sides were clearly defined.
In the end, the vote failed 19-20. The tax rate will remain at 8%, at least for the near future. Contact your Congressmen if you have questions about this bill, or check the eUS forums here: http://eusaforums.com/forum/index.php/topic,35493.0.html to read the discussion.
Tl;dr? The arguments were summarized (objectively) briefly below.
Arguments for a 6% tax rate: A 6% tax rate allows the average American citizen to save more money per click, at an average of 400 USD per year. It also encourages more eUS communes and businesses to remain rooted in the eUS, rather than exporting their companies overseas and taking advantage of the lower tax rates overseas.
Arguments to remain at a 8% tax rate: A 8% tax rate allows the eUS reserves to grow at a substational rate each month, and goes further to protect the eUS in future wars and invasions. Several Congressmen noted that even one or two long campaigns can be extremely costly, due to the increased need for CO’s.
All Quiet on the American Front
At the time of publication, the eUS was at a rare peace with all nations. No battles involved the eUS. However, our allies are in need of help in several campaigns around the world. This includes Russia, Peru, and Argentina. See the graphic below for a full list of current allied battles.
Upcoming Congressional Elections
June 25th will bring the newest set of Congressional members to Congress for the 91st Congress. Make sure you cast your vote for your favorite Top 5 party on the 25th. Also, make sure to check which parties are running 6th party candidates, if you’d like to support a 6th party as well. Both SFP members and Old F-cks members have run under T5 parties in the past to gain Congressional seats.
If you have questions about the Congressional process, direct them towards your Party Presidents.
Your Inspirational American Gif of the Day
Sincerely, Your WHPR team,
Secretary of Media, Tom Cauchon
Deputy Secretary of Media, Tyler Bubblar

Always manages to miss by one vote, on that forum.
We don't need a high tax. They just take money from the new players and give it to people who are in their clique.
It's always been that way and very few people have called them on it.
The kid with the assault rifle is my brother's doppelganger. I love that Gif.
I do wish they would publish screen shots of their accounts quarterly so that congress can verify that the money is actually being held.
but anyways them taking 1.5 million out of the economy increases the value of the currency. so if people save a bundle of currency they may be able to make a lot.
however plato had become frustrated with the american government and under-minded their large cash reserve! this is where i profit. plato turned on the printing presses when he allowed medals to make currency instead of gold. and we can see wep prices are slowly rising and gold prices slowly rising, currency is going to become less and less valuable. so i am holding a huge supply of weps. well not huge but growing.
so as long as plato is anti american government i know that plato will balance out the foolish leaders. had the usa never started hoarding millions monthly plato would not need to print millions. I will wonder what will happen if usa ever spends its 50 million reserve. will plato just change the medals back to gold, or will he for us to lay in the bed we have made.
i LOL'd at your assumption that Plato is anto-anyting when it is really pro-Plato
The answer to why they don't publish screenshots of their accounts is quite simple, it's because that money isn't there anymore; how do you think the current government D3 and D4 'tanks' and other supporters are 'bribed' to remain loyal?

/me hasn't received said bribe yet. Franklin when you sending the bribes out?
RAWR
Did anyone even consider a 7% compromise, or does greed reign?
Congress compromising is a neat idea, but never happens. too polarized.
Sounds like RL. All or nothin'.
