[UKRP] UKRP Supports Applebae

Day 2,719, 08:51 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Gali.

Hai friends.

At the present, whether it be of the abysmal choice that the RL general election faces us with, or the lovely choice that the in-game dictatorial elections faces us with, the eUK is awash with elections talk and scandal.

I'm writing this article, as the UKRP vice party president, not only to announce our public support for Sir Humphrey Appleby in the upcoming dictatorial elections. The choice is hard, but the vast majority of UKRPers have decided that Appleby is the best choice.

I, myself, can admit that Appleby has done a much better job as PP this month than I could ever do, and it is for his incredible management of the party, leading to it new-ish heights, that made me support him. After all, management of many is the same as management of few. It is a matter of organisation.

My Thoughts on FaP's Departure

As you will probably know, FaP has recently announced that he will be leaving the game soon, claiming that it has something to do with one or two members of the UKRP community responding to his attacks on the UKRP, by attacking him. Whilst I have a huge amount of respect for FaP, I gotta dispel some of his theories here, as he seems to have lost the plot slightly...

One of his main arguments against the UKRP is that, whilst Appleby wants anyone who breaks the constitutional legislation to be publicly shamed and blacklisted, why hasn't he, as UKRP PP, tried to alienate Adrastos. who broke his own legislation previously.

Essentially what FaP wants is for Ad to be treated as a BigAnt/Dapper, but is this really fair? No. Adastros. didn't steal the treasury, abuse his powers to make someone a UK citizen or anything of the sort, he cocked up. It's even an understandable mistake, who foresaw that Wayne would steal the treasury? What Ad did do wrong was to break the legislation and thus the peoples' trust in him, for which he has now apologised.

FaP also uses the fact that BDP nominated Apples as a dictatorial candidate to stain his campaign. As vPP, I can say, with complete and utter honesty, that there was no prior agreement with BDP that I'm aware of, they simply support Apples, and who are we to stop them?

The UKRP has actually come out of this with an outstanding positive; we are a very forgiving party. I think this really reflects our genuine views, and although I myself was at first wholly against BDP getting into the top 5, I realise that there's no harm in it yet. Thinking about it now, surely it seems very harsh and unfair to not allow Dapper another chance? I mean, his articles are truly cringe-worthy, and most of the stuff he says is rather ridiculous, but that doesn't mean that he definitely is planning to PTO.

My view on this is that we should give BDP a fighting chance, but keep two eyes on them at all times.

All due respect to FaP though, he really is a good person, and I'll be sad to see him go.
