[UKPP] Congress Vote Analyse

Day 2,926, 02:34 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Jny123

Its been quite a while since I wrote an intelligent article, so I thought I'd keep up with that tradition and bring you a UKPP internal vote analyse.

So I took the results posted here for the UKPP congress vote, where members decide who should be put where for congress because we're democratic like that, and decided I wanted to see if there is any correlation between who people voted for, eg if you voted for jny123(which you should) then how many also voted for Neil Lewis(which you also should). Each player had the chance to vote for 5 people so it could be interesting.

Naturally as a complicated kinda guy I decided not to sit there counting manually but to write a computer program to do it for me, which wasn't as clever as I thought because I had to declare 45 variables! Anyway if you are interested in seeing the code for yourself then I will be willing to either message it to you or post it up somewhere for you to have a gander, its in C# and I'll put comments to explain anything.

So after a couple of hours of coding I reached this screen:

This is not the best representation of the results so I have also made this table:

As you can see I've highlighted some of the table in green, these are the ones where the common votes were 10 or more to show where strong correlation. As you can also see Mad Pauly and Neil Lewis received were voted for by 20 people, meaning if you voted for one of them there was a 77% you also voted for the other.

I won't sit here and go through the whole table because I would rather this was turned into discussion between people bringing in their own interpretation of the data. The graph is ordered in the order the players will be on the congress list so it is not entirely surprising that the top left corner is so green since they did receive the most votes but never the less still quite interesting.

So I hope you have enjoyed my (lack of analysis) analysis. Like I said if you're interested in seeing the code then I can send it to you or if you would like a similar program being made for you then also feel free to contact me.
