Things do not happen. Things are made to happen.

Yeah clever I know. Figured I'd entitle my articles with relevant quotes to the state of my eRep life from the late John F. Kennedy. Not like I'm a fan of his or anything. Why would you think that?

I did my first article roughly a week ago and I figure I can keep a loose schedule of an article a week. Sounds easy enough. Having to schedule in tasks in eRep was a concept that never occurred to me until I got swept up in my party position as Deputy of Recruitment, my learning in the University, my flight training etc. etc. But in-game activity is very important to me (and that's why I'll still challenge anyone to a time-logged-per-day contest lol). So I am going to continue to manage all the things on my plate knowing full well:

1. There are people with much more on their plate with much more important positions and;
2. That I better get used to it because I'm determined to attain those very positions.
Herein lies the purpose of this article.

P.S For anyone who gets this^ you're a friend in my book.

I chose this quote for the article's title from the eloquent JFK because I think it's meaning is something every eRep player should contemplate. (I bet that's why he said it, he knew in 50 or so years a bunch of citizens of the eUSA would need some motivation. It's his vision I tell you, vision). I find a potential common tendency among people, myself included, which is they reach a point, whether that point is a party job, an eRep level, a strength level, or whatever, and then lose the drive to move past that point.

They get content or complacent or satisfied.

I take great pride in my drive and determination to fulfill my personal goals as well as do everything I can to maximize results in whatever I'm doing from my party job to my position within the USAF.

But even I find myself being content. Being complacent. Being satisfied.

And this worries me because in my opinion:
Satisfaction, Complacency, and Contentedness are the ingredients to the recipe of a dysfunctional worker, party or country.

And then for many, a seemingly paradoxical situation arises. People say "Well I need to be motivated to stop BEING satisfied, complacent and content." My answer to that is the only way to get motivated is to move past the point of satisfaction.

Huh? You're probably thinking how can I move past satisfaction without being motivated if the only way to get motivated is to not be satisfied? The answer lies in the err of the question. The path to ambition is not through motivation but effort and hard work. It's this transition period that is the hardest to get past but also the most necessary and I am convinced the most successful people are the ones who repeatedly succeed in that transition itself. eUSA needs successful people, political parties need successful people and you should feel the need to be a successful eCitizen.

Therefore,

The eUSA is a great country. But to be a better country it needs to get past that transition. It needs to stop being satisfied.

The We The People Party is a great party. But to be a better party it too needs to get past that transition. It needs to stop being complacent.

I am a good eAmerican. But to become a great eAmerican I need to get past that transition. I need to stop being content.

If enough people get behind the idea of Fruition through Ambition and not Remission through Supposition, (Damn that was smooth) eAmerica can move into the next phase of greatness, one that I think may just be around the corner.

And that is why, ladies and gentleman, I am running for President of eUSA.

Nah I'm just kidding. But I will be running for Congress in the near future, so keep that thought in mind 😉. Haha

Folks, that's it from me, you can check off your weekly deep meaning article reading. Hope you enjoyed the article and if you did (or didn't) enjoy it, vote it, endorse it, share it, subscribe to it, praise it, pray to it, print it out and sleep with it, you do whatever you want with it. It's a free country remember? 😉

Anyways, Goodnight eAmerica,

And remember, Things do not happen. Things are made to happen.
