[SP] To: Jacobi...I'm Fired? No...You're Fired!
Niko Snow
"I am sorry to say but you are being removed from the administration and the Vice Presidency. The Polish funding vote was the last straw."
-Jacobi to Tyrael Snow
In this moment, I am now assuming the role of Shadow President of Canada.
Jacobi knew from the get-go that we had grossly different views on taxes.
Now he has shown that he doesn't seem to dignify democratic values, nor did he ever truly intend to uphold the values of any party, hardly even his own, in what will now be his final tenure as President.
Now that I have disagreed twice in a row to the very exact same proposal to fund based on the percentage of active members, with no regard for total influence or for the rights of soldiers who come on less often than others, I have been ousted.
Enough's enough....Starting tomorrow, I intend to make my first proposal in the new Congress. This proposal will be made without regard for the slow and painstaking eCanadian Forum Constitution or any of it's Laws. I intend to impeach Jacobi and assume control of the Canadian Presidency until I can be democratically elected by the people in the following Presidential election: As is permitted under game mechanics in all their primacy.
Winter is Coming....Let's Go Exploring!
Unlike Jacobi, I will assume command over vital areas, rather than leaving poorly performing Ministers in their delegate positions and leaving hard working Deputy Ministers like Mochan Drust in the dark. I intend to let my Cabinet, and Canada, know what is going on each step of the way. I will be preparing a daily journal in this newspaper for you to monitor the major on-goings of the Country.
It's time Canada had a strategic leader. I may not be perfect but I sure as hell am not lazy. I am still the fastest XP building Canadian, the most active on IRC, run the day to day happenings of the 2nd largest MU in Canada, and the largest political party devoted exclusively to both Libertarianism and Strategism.
The Canadian Tax rates need to go down, our funding systems need to be reconsider. I am no longer tolerating MUs getting more funding than they deserve and Canadians getting taxed more than they should.
In this time, I ask the Coalition to prove that they are not simply here for the lulz, but to prove to Canada just how hardened they are about being strategic, and I ask for a peace to begin between our parties so that we may see Canada start to grow as a nation again, as we proceed to weed out those redundancies and time-wasters and focus on what works.
I will begin selecting candidates for the Cabinet at the beginning of the impeachment process tomorrow. Anyone who is interested should contact me by private message as soon as possible.
I spent one week as a Moderator there in eCanada Forums, and it is more than evident. It is floating dead ship that no-one wants to take, nor give away responsibility for. I hereby resign from this position: If they don't want to trust anyone enough to get the job done and their forum fixed, let them float into hell on their own.
Thank you Canada, and may the Great Bieber both watch over us all.
Sincerely yours,
Tyrael Snow

Winter is Coming?
good luck
Winter came?
How many times must you run for presidency, Tyrael? This is starting to remind me about Octavian. There is a reason Jacobi has fired you.
Yep, it's for not agreeing with him. Sound familiar to anyone?
Sounds exactly like the guy Jacobi was pretending to be better than in replacing.
I trusted Jacobi to be better than Rylde. More open.
Instead, his articles reek of nothing but loathing for Canada, the Congress, and the Parties beliefs.
He has engaged in government affairs without consulting his appointed ministers on any level.
It's over for him.
Winter is Coming.
I'm with ya.
Generally, a VP, when he agrees to be VP, agrees - at least publicly - to advance his boss's political platform.
When a VP opposes his CP openly, it is hardly surprising that the VP loses his position.
At least, that is my take.
Winter is Coming?
"It is floating dead ship that no-one wants to take, nor give away responsibility for." x2
Truer words were never spoken.
Jacobi has likewise been a disappointment. At least Rylde didn't pretend he wasn't a tyrant.
Tyrael and his posse are going to nail the coffin closed
he is the winter, and winter sucks
winter came with a blizzard
A revolution is on our hands
Well winter can't be worst than the actual summer.... GL Tyrael.
Get some winter's gears before the their prices rise.
Assuming the CP, assuming the election will go your way...... taking over..... and you claim to be democratic??
When your boss fires you, you can't just start a revolt and take over control......
Still a dictator claiming to be a democrat...... and you think you're going to be the help eCanada needs??
You and Jacobi fighting it out to be "democratic dictator" are losing more citizens......
Treian, a democratically elected Congress have every right to fire the President for failing to perform their duties. Really lame attempt on your part.
Amusing.
you understand that the funding vote had nothing at all to do with taxation? you understand that jacobi has begun a public discussion about MU funding and appears to favour a drastic change from the present system - a system he did not create?
you have been in congress two months. That is where you need to make and win your arguments about taxation (over which the president has no control) and MU funding (over which the President has no control). But you know that already.
Winter may be coming, but let me tell you something Canada. Winter is bleak. Winter is cold. Winter is heartless. Winter is unforgiving. Winter is hopeless and devoid of life.
Winter may be coming, but is Winter what you want?
Winter isn't coming until December 21st.
Very intresting. I shall side with Tyrael, as he would make a more worthy president. Canada never fails to entertain me.
"the most active on IRC"
I thought you opposed both IRC and the forums?
~hyuu~
I can't say that either deserves much support in this battle.
Oh look, drama in eCan, surprise surprise.

But mate, so long as you don't succumb to a "4 fun" congress, "I ask the Coalition to prove that they are not simply here for the lulz" as you say you will, I have no opposition to you leading.
But if I get elected to congress, then I will most probably vote against this impeachment proposal, because I have quite the positive view of how Jacobi has ruled in a no-nonsense way, not doing whatever the mostly populist congress wants, etc. But if it does succeed then I will support you none the less, so long as you don't do anything to ridiculous 😛 Which you don't seem to want to do either way (besides lower taxes en masse, but whatever.)
eCanadian Politics. eRep's answer to the Cripple Fight.
am i the only one that's sitting and just watching this with a bucket of popcorn?
No, I am waiting for him to not get what he wants and delete the article because it doesn't paint things in the light that he wants.
But I do like the idea of a shadow president: publish daily articles explaining how you would do it, review the errors and the accomplishments of the incumbent, kind of like a loyal opposition. I wish I had thought of that myself. Now I can only be a shadow shadow-president. I will need a shadow shadow Minister of Finance - Etemenanki you interested? And other shadow shadow Ministers. Kindly comment below if interested or pm at leisure. The Fall comes before Winter.
kind regards
Sure, why not. So far, things have been going off the rails as we seem to have given up any idea of actually having our MU's self sustain themselves, while our citizens have carried on in that vein. It means that as time has gone by our MU's have required more cash (as they grow in size as more people join MU's) while at the same time our tax intake continues to drop further and further. We are past the tipping point already. So says the shadow shadow Minister of Finance. All hail CP Oliver
hmmm not allowing dissent, openly hates and disregards the elected congress, sounds like a dictatorship?
"hmmm not allowing dissent"
"Now that I have disagreed twice in a row...."
If he didn't allow dissent, he would have eliminated him the first time he disagreed, not the second.
@Etermenanki: There is always the chat session from where he tried to fire me for disagreeing with him the first time?
And to all those who say Winter sucks:

Winter is awesome, if you don't agree, get the hell out of Canada.
@olivermellors: This is the point of a Shadow Government. Something the CPF were guffawing at, as though it were an alien concept. It is one of the oldest and truest traditions of a Westminster Government.
@ElPatoDiablo: You are once again being misleading to the public. The AFK / Clan Wolf was originally designed to be a party to represent two-clickers in government while also recognizing the wishes of other players to have their metagame preferences such as the CPF and such in eCanada Forums, or the Coalition on IRC. Just because we do not prefer to use them, doesn't mean we absolve ourselves of the right to, we just don't see it as the best 110% way of managing the in-game experience.
@Corrigan Brown: No...mine has extra butter 😃
Okay! Thanks you for the clarification! I was a bit confused. My comment has been deleted in order to not misinform people.
Thank you for clarification!
Wow, so are we 2? Don't get our way and have a temper tantrum? Seriously, my children use to play this way 15 years ago..or was it 20..... see what happens when you get old. You had a job and you got fired from it. Just like normal life.... Would you go for an overthrow of the company that did that to too? In real life you must be in politics too since the idea of realism is to slam any of your opponents as much as you can, then hope to win respect.
........ not thinking this is the way
This way is more fun and more entertaining.
What it isn't is more productive or beneficial to eCanada. However, as oliver pointed out, a loyal opposition that dutifully comments on the govt in power can be a great asset to eCanada if it can point out valid flaws and push for corrections where there is something lacking
Maybe that is the point of this article. I cannot tell for sure. So much is muddy. Jacobi felt steady even if he didn't pander and entertain. Some changes comes slowly here
@Jolabent: There's such a thing as an unjustified termination.
Tried to fire you? He is the CP. If he wanted to fire you, he would have fired you, he didn't, so your notion of no dissent is nonsense. You had your chance to dissent, then you pushed it to far and he was left with removing you. He did. It was his choice to make. I'm with Jolabent here, your acting like a 2 year old who had his bottle taken away and expecting us to think your what.... principled for it? If you had quit or resigned from cabinet in protest maybe.
@Plugson: What is less productive about this as compared to eCanada forums, really?
I mean, I'm beginning to get the impression when the CPF says "Less productive" or "Doesn't work"
It actually means : We're too bloody lazy to read both the forums and in-game so we prefer the forums, so we intend to make everybody else read the forums whether they want to or not."
This is a debate I no longer care about. I'm not in Congress and won't be. So I no longer have any use of the forums. I used it while I was in Congress because was part of operating standards and I did what I could to make subtle changes along the way. Perhaps some of these were not beneficial, but time will tell.
It's not less productive here. It's less organized. Some people do better within a more chaotic environment. Others want something better managed.
It comes down to a matter of gameplay styles. Some people in CPF want to play the game differently than I do, perhaps so when it came to shfiting to an in-game method. However, in other ways CPF members shared the same gameplay style as me because they were:
a)less belligerent than other parties out there
b)cordial and trustworthy
c)worked hard at keeping things from getting out of control and weren't looking for controversy or self-promotion.
Good group. But then most players are good.
Define "better managed" relative to eCanada. The Speaker is the closest thing to a moderator that exists and is never neutral or fair.
I mean the forum has better record keeping and search options. eRep articles disappear and cannot be easily cataloged or put into different. Beleive me I have tried, especially when I was doing WGC cataloging. eRep media is a mess compared to how the forum keeps topics at the forefront
Easier to manage but not so accessible to the layman/un-initiated forum user.A lot of work would have to be done to catalog Congress debates.
In-game works if we let it all go and play by ear~au naturel
