[SFP] Congress matters, and so do you

You know, there's this awful date approaching in eRepublik. It's nearly the 25th of the month again. You know what that means, right? That means an entire media full of politico-waffle trying to get you to vote. Who cares????! Nothing changes anyway, amirite?





Well, you should care. Because things can change. This might sound trite, but Congress is made up of people. Some people in eRepublik are honest, some aren't. Some have a work ethic while others are lazy. Some people have original ideas while others just blindly follow. These traits aren't even mutually exclusive. Some of the best workers are unimaginative blocks of wood. Where am I going with all this? You, the e-public, can control which people, with their respective traits, get into Congress.


On the 25th, when that blue banner appears, take a moment to look at the people that each party is sponsoring. Vote for people who have worked for the country, or for their party. Don't vote for parties promoting faceless apparatchiks, that's endorsing the status quo. Are you happy with the status quo? No, I didn't think so.


Take note of which parties run democratic systems to decide the ballot order. This is a way of keeping the active players and effective representatives at the top of the list. It keeps multis as PTO risks at the bottom.





Despite the President and their executive team being in the hot seat and carrying the responsibility of office, it is congress that maintains control of the country. It falls to Congress to restrain executive enthusiasm and overreach. Congress need to be persuaded on any chosen action that needs funding. Think of them as a safeguard and the suppository of wisdom (and yes, that is a real thing).


In short, Congress matters. If you don't believe me, run for Congress next month and see for yourself.
