[Plea] Iain Keers' Reignition of the Media Battle, Hypocrisy?
Major Lee Hung
Hello dear readers,
I wouldn't normally do this, I'd normally send a nice private message because I like to speak my mind. However, when somebody does exactly this and makes their personal quarrels a public matter for no logical reason, I'm sure they deserve the same treatment. Isn't the rule, 'treat others as you would expect them to treat you'?
For somebody who acts like the innocent in this whole thing, it is largely hypocritical. Both sides are guilty, and despite the apology of one side, the other insists on continuing in what's nothing more than a political tactic.
History
It's recently come to mine, and most probably your, attention that lately the little war that was ongoing in the media module was almost dying down. Goku Jones admitted his large party in being the catalyst of the events and his friends had unofficially apologised for their schoolboy bullying tactics.
Overview
In-coincidently, this little 'war' was immediately restarted following the return of Iain Keers, who felt he just must make this little battle public again, right after it had started to dissolve.
Why?
My question is as follows, why must you do this Mr Keers? You have in-game messaging to resolve your dispute with Goku Jones. I used to be a subscriber to your news paper and enjoyed reading your articles, but lately they've become beyond immature and irresponsible.
When this media war is closing, why must it be restarted publicly? Everything you put in to your articles aimed at Goku Jones can simply be sent via in-game messages, the forums, IRC or whatever. I see no logical reason to cause a national partition again.
Making this debate in the public causes a lot more problems nationally than it will solve with your personal dispute. The whole of the eUK doesn't want to see this pointless debate again, and it's causing many people to lose hope on the eUK, makes us look immature in front of the rest of the eWorld and more importantly, causes a partition in which two sides of the eUK are forced to take a side.
Plea
My, and probably many other people's request is that this be taken to somewhere else other than the media module. This debate basically comes down to 'my put downs are wittier than your put downs, look how witty and awesome and superior I am everybody'.
This isn't a personal attack, but a public request to stop your public campaign against somebody you have a personal debate with.
I've said the same to Goku Jones in the past, so I'm completely neutral in this little debate.
Show some maturity and put an end to the school playground approach to your dispute.
Thanks,
Joshua Whelan
Comments
Also for clarification, I say Goku Jones because he seems to be the priority target, the NE and UKPP seem to be the wider target. While understandably they can often be disrepectful at the best of times, it's no reason to drag the whole of the eUK in to your little war on these parties.
Just ignore him till his stuff returns from 'potty' and 'hysterical' to his previous good stuff.
He's still catching up on eUK affairs after his return from overseas and the trend is towards stuff you want to read (tho we may have to wait a while to get there even with daily publishing)
Iain Keers is making himself look a right tool
As a New Era member, i can't remember being disrespectful and i don't know many NE members are!
By disrespectful I mean the odd 'TUP sux' kind of comments by a minority of the members. While it must be annoying for the TUP to keep seeing it, there's no reason the blame should be pinned on the whole party, or Goku Jones.
I have offered to speak to Iain in private to sort this out and he has declined, he wants to do it in public.
I was (legitimatly) pissed off and posted drama articles in the media to raise awareness and also raise my profile... it went too far on both sides and everyone felt pretty bad about the whole thing. We stopped the drama articles, toned down the comments and stopped vote buying.
I will be aiming to respond to Iain with dignity and not stooping to his level.
No i do think the eUK needs to end all this now which is why I have taken a back seat and kept a lid on it pretty much. The fighting has become boring and its like a broken record now. I think it needs to end from all sides and we can go back to French baiting.
I don't disagree, but I think it would have hotted up around the next CP election again anyway. We would only have had a temporary reprive.
Perhaps it is time to try that cross party meeting again Talon? With forums not an issue it could bring harmony...worth a try if we have a Sunday afternoon spare and whats the worst that can happen? We pretty much already have deep splits.
It'll turn into a farce again. They always do. We don't need to go over the things that divide us once again
It could work as long as we don't get 2-3 times more members from one party because they took over smaller parties - that is what sunk the last meeting because they got their view heard more loudly as a result and biased the meeting.
Lets be honest the past fiasco wouldnt have happened if it had of occurred in real life and in a strip club...Talon needs to admit his choice of venue (IRC) was wholly inappropriate and apologise.
Voted.
If I did it, it would be PPs only. I'll ask them if they think it's worth it.
He was warning NE not to trust their new PP, who was elected yesterday. How could he have done that via PM or discussion with the PP in question?
I doubt this war will ever end in its entirety, though.
If you read Keers articles, his dispute is not with Goku personally, but his actions and, his - perceived - view that Goku is leading things down a negative spiral.
oh, and Talon, im keen for that meeting.
Trouble is, last month Goku's anti tup comments were indicative to us of NE as a whole. He was the spokesman after all.
As long as the parties don't discuss the kumnaa forums, IRC, Citizenship, RP laws, taxation, legion/national army or media then it should be a pleasent meeting.
Alfagrem - I actually chuckled at that
😮P
Bohemond, Iain Keers is your Secretary General (leader) so I guess that he negative flame articles are indicative of TUP as a whole then?
Touche
Touche x2
Can't have things both ways I'm afraid. Simple way to not confuse party ideas and personal ones is to use the good old [tags], that way party articles can happy co-exist with personal ones and the two not get confused.
Thank you, that is all.
This deserves an article: """ This debate basically comes down to 'my put downs are wittier than your put downs, look how witty and awesome and superior I am everybody'.""
"""As long as the parties don't discuss the kumnaa forums, IRC, Citizenship, RP laws, taxation, legion/national army or media then it should be a pleasent meeting. """
What's that old adage about winning arguments on the internet?
elle, I'd love to know, really, even if it's sad or negative.
The last poster wins the argument?
Is it only obvious to me that Iain is just doing this as propaganda (against New Era)
If you are reading this Iain, yes Goku did some stuff, in the past, but this is a New Era for him
p.s. you are making yourself look stupid Iain, stop while you have some dignity
The 'EVIL' Keers is EVIL I tell you, EVIL!!!
