[One Vision] Time to Rebuild

Day 1,972, 00:19 Published in United Kingdom Norway by Major Lee Hung

Hello all,

I have decided to try and rebuild One Vision, it can become stronger than what it once was. A place for everybody to gain a voice; a party with a mutual goal for change. We will rise once more for a second period of prosperity.

This is obviously a very ambitious attempt considering there are 24 hours until elections at the time of writing, but it's time to try and breathe some life in to a party that was one on the front lines of British politics, and has helped many people progress in to other parties to live up to what they can be; the exact thing One Vision was created to do.

Founding Goal

When we founded One Vision, I intended for it to be a party for new players to gain opportunity. It was supposed to be neutral from other parties, and help newer players more than just politically.

The mistake we made was creating a dependence on material incentives to get people joining. We need a new approach, a new vision.

Rebranding

We can no longer go by under the old image. We made some mistakes that we need to finally move past. To do this, I intend to do the following:

-Implement some new logos; designed by party members ideally. We had some old ones that people had created so if you still have those, send me the link! 😃
-Change back to centre-left; much of what we stood for were left-wing values, we don't fit in with the current model of 'centre' parties in the eUK.
-Begin new initiatives; read the next section for more.
-Rebuild relations with other parties; we can't continue tomorrow, with yesterdays grudges.

What I Intend to Do

The most important part for any manifesto - here is what I intend to get done should I be elected as party president for One Vision.

-Implement much of the above to give us a new image within eUK politics
-Begin talks with other parties to discuss congress seats in the forthcoming election, allowing us to run candidates from somewhere else

Replacing the Handout Program

This is an area we went wrong. It was good at the time as we helped One Vision alone deliver a significant percentage of the eUK's damage across all divisions. This program however undermined what the eNHS does. While it did take the load off of the NHS, this in the end only benefited our members. I intend to change this course of action.

I will begin referring new players to the eNHS starting 1st May. From this date, I'll begin making regular donations so that we're making a better, more positive mark on the eUK. This is progression for the whole country.

Community Building

We need to grow our current strong community within the party; we need to integrate this community with the wider eUK community. I intend to start making a push towards the eUK forums; the opposite direction of our old position. From here, we can begin discussing and publicising some solid policies, which we really need to get pushing on with!

I'll also arrange some events for later down the line, in order to fulfill our goal an bring people together.

Final Words

One thing I cannot guarantee is growth. The eUK is a different place to when we started, we used a different method to what I'm proposing for rapid growth which didn't go in the right direction to what was envisioned - the path of self-sufficiency.

What I'm trying to do is create a better, stronger position for future presidents to push the party forward. The eUK is competitive right now, and the best we can do is ride out the storm as everybody pushes for the top five. There are now 10 parties actively fighting for members, between a dwindling population of 2,400, of which around 500 are actually active people.

Any recruitment we do will have to come from out of game for now - and so I encourage you for the good of the party and the wider eUK; try to invite three RL friends each. If we all get atleast one join, the party will double in size.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask in comments and I'll try to address them all!
