[MoI] First Term Sum Up, A Look Ahead and an Oldy but a Goody

Day 1,964, 21:42 Published in Canada Canada by Canadian National Defense

From the desk of President Homer J Simpson:

As the first term went on, people started asking me if I would be trying for a second. Originally I had only looked at this as a one off, give it a go before I end up leaving the game, kind of thing. Then I looked at the success we'd had, I thought about how much enjoyment I'd got out of this term and, most of all, I looked at what was left to do. I've never been the kind to start a job and then leave it half finished and so, here we are.

From the desk of Vice President Ralph Kline:

I think Homer has been one of the best CP's we have had. His communication and his common-sense approach has been key to his success.
My role as VCP has been uneventful, aside from a few pm's to help coordinate the attack to secure our congress last month. I have just been trying to keep up with reading all the threads, and there are plenty!

Department of Defense:

Ministers: Eric Last / I-Bleed-Blue-93

Homer's term has been the best we've had in eCanada in some time.
He has done an outstanding job and I am very honoured to have worked with him.

The Ministry of Defense was hard at work all month publishing Battle Orders and supporting our allies, whilst gathering allies and preparing our Congress Push (Operation: Much Apu About Nothing), which, after countless late nights and hours upon hours supplying soldiers, buying mercenaries, and coordinating PM's and strikes, was finally successful in gaining Canada a Congress once again.

We hope for another successful term, hopefully one where we actually retain our freedom and kick out our oppressors.

Fight hard and fight smart, eCan o7

Department of Foreign Affairs:

Ministers: Mary Chan / Dozzer X

Dozzer- This month has been a very active one for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a very enjoyable one as well. In addition to improving our relationship with CUA and becoming full members of Asgard, we have also tried to approach a more friendly approach towards certain countries that have helped us over time, especially in our struggle against Spain. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs' unstopped work for the betterment of Canada's external image has done miracles, but the merits are not only of our MoFA team but of the whole government at large. It has certainly been a fun month, and one of the most exciting since I've started playing this game back in March 2009.

Mary Chan- Personally this wasn't the most vocal or active term for me as a citizen in eRep in general, but collectively, Homer's team is vocal and active in all aspects. This is a cabinet with the best interests of Canada in mind and I'm thrilled to have worked with them. In Operation Much Apu Nothing especially, superb allies, coordination and communications were demonstrated in both Foreign Affairs and Defense. Although our situation with Spain is still hostile, Foreign Affairs continue to have open doors in hopes of advancing negotiations. Special thanks to the amazing Cabinet, allied Cabinet members, foreign and domestic and MU contacts, and the citizens of eCanada for all the support this term! Here's to Round Two!

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Shoi12

We've focused on improving upon past friendships with nations over in CUA, and eased our way into Asgard as a full member. Of course, we fought alongside both Asgard and CUA, helping Argentina and Ireland invade the Brits. And while we've shown our loyalty and prowess as a true ally, putting our allies' needs above our own, we've also begun plans to secure our own freedom. It's been a fun month 😉

And, you know, we got Congress too!

Asgard Correspondence:

eCanadian Representatives: Venerable / Decode Masala

Homer went into this term seeking to acquire full membership of Asgard, and when a roadblock was placed in his way he kindly kicked it in the ass and sent it on its way. By Executive Ordering the previous congress into power, we were able to satisfy the terms of the Asgard treaty with a majority vote of acceptance.

Many of our eCitizens fears were set aside once this happened, as Asgard held us as priority in every battle we needed. As full members, the bonds of our relations can only continue to grow, which has been fueled by Homers insistence of participation in the AsgardHQ IRC Channel.

Hail Homer! Hail Canada! Hail Asgard!

Feel free to ask the Asgard representatives if you want any details.

Department of Information

Ministers: Crisfire / Dartreal

Dartreal- I feel that we provided good clarity to the people. Thanks to Homer for selecting me to be a part of the cabinet, and a special thanks to SamLeVil for providing us with the French translations.

Crisfire- In a game that is losing alot of interest for alot of people Homer and team have kept it going by making eCanadians believe and prove that if we all work as a team, if we keep in contact with friends and allies we can win battles agaisnt Spain. Im not sure what is in store for eCanada post Homer becuase I just dont see anyone at the moment being able to fill his shoes and bring the people he has surronded himself with to the table.

Sad to see Dartreal take a break this term as it means I may have to do a wee bit more, fortunately almost everything is hush hush until it happens 😉
