General government news
The government is now active for some time. It was not an easy start. All things are being discussed in English, new and experienced ministers from three parties wanted to cooperate but soon some difficulties came.
It is already known that Frerk (I&W) resigned as Minister of Home Affairs. He worked hard and was committed to do his tasks. Sadly with the election of the judges there were big problems in the process and this was not well received by a lot of people. Frerk did not trust that things would work out with coalition party BP.
On the forum and ingame there has been quite a lot of bickering posted. Frerk send his resignation to president Jazar and premier Cocoamok on Monday morning and we could only accept that with regret.
In the afternoon we saw the news that BP left the government because they were not satisfied with the progress made and they had no trust that staying in the government would contribute to their goals. Indeed many of us have a different perspective. We hope in time we can achieve better understanding. Partly there were misunderstandings, partly there were mistakes. It has to do with the emotions the people from BP got from entering our nation. They have had very much attacks on them. For new players that is difficult and we hope we can all understand that. We will miss the ministers of BP.
Monday evening it was discussed Within the remaining government what to do. As the government program was well received and agreed upon by an overwhelming majority of the congress, we decided to go on with this program and only one new minister was appointed in the government.
We do believe or hope BP will be constructive in the congress as long as we show we want to make our joined program reality. One nation for all, regardless of your nationality or language. We think we can make this program a success. From both sides it will cost energy and commitment. We will show ours.
Dionysus has become Minister of Home Affairs. M&R and H&I will become departments of Home Affairs. Artemivanov will be "secretary" to do the tasks of M&R. He is not in the government, he is just doing the tasks like Crell does for the Coaching group and Epix as vice general for Defense. We must find more people for those kind of tasks. If we succeed in that, expertise will not be lost when the government changes and also in time of the formation of a new government most of the work can go on. Finances will take care of the tasks of State Companies & Gold Market. If it is too much for Peter van der Voort, premier Cocoamok will do part of that tasks.
We hope our decision to go on with this minority coalition will have the support of the citizens and the congress members.

Home Affairs continues with a new minister. Frerk was replaced by dionysus.

Foreign Affairs
* Had contact with the UK about strengthening our ties and asked them to open an embassy.
* Had contact with Hungary about their plans with the war and podolia etc.
* Did some work on how to make a nice report form for our ambassadors.
Foreign Affairs is currently looking for a Chief Ambassador.

Finance
Statecompanies & Goldmarket is a part of Finance since BP left the government. Like stated in general news, Minister Peter van der Voort will get assistance from Cocoamok if it is too much work.
Finance has already worked on stabilizing the goldmarket. The currency benchmark is currently at 1 NLG = 0.015 gold, as promised in the government programme. Some gold has been spent to keep the currency stable.
Raw Materials
As usual for the ministry of Raw Materials there is not much news.
Last week we supplied more companies raw materials than the week before.
One company asked the ministry to supply them iron for 20 gold every week, which we accepted.

Another late addition to this news: Frerk will assist Minister Deviltje with the tasks at Raw Materials.
Defense
* There is a lot of talking on the forum about the name of the "Vliegende Hollanders". Before the end of the week we hope to have more answers.
* The "Vliegende Hollanders" don't have a lot to do at the time. Yesterday some people have fought for Moscow. Finland said they will give it back to Russia but some atlantis tanks did not listen to that, so we offered some support. Moscow is now finally back in Russian hands.

* Defense has asked for some donations for the wargames. Read the article:

* All members of PEACE will pay a little contribution to the alliance. Bigger countries donate more. A vote has started in the congress on the forums.

I think that the UK and the Netherlands have the same foreign policy goals now. This is a good decision on the part of the current government.
