[FIST] Pacifica or Bust
Cthulhu..
Good day to everyone out there in the eWorld. I haven't written you for some time and just wanted to take a minute to talk about the changes occurring in the Balkans. I come to you as a middle-aged player. As you can see from my profile ID, I've been around for a little while. I've seen a couple of things happen and a couple of the ebbs and flows in erepublik. I've made a few really good friends on erepublik and I've pissed off some people. Some people have pissed on me and in the end, I've kept this mostly in perspective. This game we play has no 'end' in sight, no true measure of 'winning.'
So, we come to the current decision regarding our foreign affairs. The first question I ask is what happened with Hungary? Seriously, I don't know. We had an MPP, they fought against us and it fell apart. What was the root cause? Do the Balkans hate the USA IRL and let that bleed into the game? Is that the reason that the eUSA and eSerbia can never, never, never, never MPP? Is there any way to keep this RL crap from continuously creeping into the game?
I've been vocal in the past about my wish for the eUSA, eSerbia, and eCroatia to give the MPPs a chance. But, if the final determination in this game is that the RL issues are always going to bleed in, then it's probably time to face the fact that the friends we have IRL in the Balkans are the only friends that we will ever have in the game. How many times has erepublik repeated itself? How many times can the eUSA get burned and learn not to touch the fire? Do we continue to test the waters in the Balkans, or pick a team and stick with them?
Or Should the eUSA skirt around this issue all together and focus on Pacifica? I've heard a few people point out that the eUSA, since Molly Emma took us out of the train-wreck Sirius, has successfully navigated their way without getting hammered in the Balkan quagmire. Pacifica now stands at the following countries:
USA
Finland
Russia
Latvia
Columbia
Republic of China (Taiwan)
I have not seen a lot of Pacifica propaganda, but perhaps there are a couple of countries that would meld well in this group. How successful has Pacifica been at protecting her members? At first glance, the protection afforded the members has been largely successful. Columbia is the only country that has been in a tough spot, but I'd like to think that the overall satisfaction of the members should be a strong 4 on the 1-5 scale. So, I ask you, who would be a good fit in Pacifica?
I'd like to see one or more of the following join our ranks:
Argentina, China, Cyprus, and Brazil
I'm not here to tell you how this ends. I'm not here to tell you what to do. I'm simply asking what is the best for the eUSA and Pacifica.

I share your concerns. In my past article The Rising Power of Asteria and the Waning Power of Pacifica I addressed similar questions and concerns. The Greece-Hungary War is definitely puts both Asteria and Pacifica as a new axis possibly threatens the future of Asteria and also sub alliances. Be interesting how that shapes out. Your article is very insightful Alexander.
How about Norway? 🙂

FIST!
Well, I'm colombian (please, say Colombia, not Columbia) and I feel I have no idea what Pacifica stand for. Considering his name, I'd bet that is a reunion of countries from Pacific Ocean (but, again, we have Finland and Latvia as members). I really thought the Greek-Hungarian war would push USA toward Greece, but not movement had been made since then.
Besides, there is the believe of USA not being loyal enough with their allies when a topic menaces their own interests. But, as I said, my doubts are about the philosophy of Pacifica, more than anything else.
USA has been loyal to its Pacifica allies unless I'm mistaken?
Nigeria, Egypt and South Africa should form an alliance and call it Antarctica!
I'm speaking in general and in third person and that's why I put that as "believe", not as a matter of fact. Personally, despite of me being 4 years in this game, it's the first time USA and Colombia belongs to the same alliance. Then I can't make an assessment about that.
Worse, maybe that assessment now would be impossible to make: the CO system, implemented in the game, became almost all players in mercenaries. Today the only valid measure would be the Defense Department's Battle Orders published in newspaper and a correlation of US citizens obeying those orders without CO in the middle. 😕
The only fact around this topic is some colombians having good friendship with some of you and the Colombia-USA NAP when we were in war with Mexico. If I had to judge based in those facts, then I've nothing to complain about.
Ok thank you for clarifying your position 🙂
Hail Pacifica!
Demonaire writes "there is the believe of USA not being loyal enough with their allies when a topic menaces their own interests".
That is exactly the reason why the eUS don´t have friends in this game, because whenever the US see the chance to change sides for the supposed good of their own interests regardless if they harm previous allies/friends or not, they´ll do it. With this strategy the US have pissed off more countries than any other state in erepublik. Even former enemies which could be their future allies just don´t want to have anything to do with the US, because they look at the US as most disloyal country in this game.
iirc Molly Emma was asked to attack Argentina who was beating the crap out of Spain. So if Molly hadn't signed a NAP with Argentina it would have been the USA alone fighting Argentina. Where was Spain's help from its allies during that debacle? Molly wasn't stupid enough to attack Argentina by herself.
>That is exactly the reason why the eUS don´t have friends in this game
I don't think so.
Many Russian players remember that US helped us last January to liberate our core regions. We consider eUSA as one of our best friends in this game.
We will do our best in case of attack on the US core regions.
And this right here is exactly what I am talking about 🙂
Paksa, I'm from Mexico, and we indeed gave all for the US.
Just look at the map and see how Mexico is now.
I'm not mad with the US, i don't fight against the US as it was a country I defended not only military but politically, but I'm disappointed.
The things that have happened between Chile and the USA are really quite sad. We were very close friends twice I believe and it went badly both times. I'm not sure why, but could it ever be restored?
I hope so, I really want that to happen but right now I think it woukd be impossible as the U.S. is allied with Argentina.
Maybe in a future the paths of U.S. and Chile will cross again and Mexico will be the the happiest one to see it.
It might have to start with a lame NAP.
The Greece-Hungary conflict could make for a more interesting future in erep, but Asteria has a vested interest in the status quo which is keeping a lid on things for now. But the Greeks being who they are, will sooner or later provoke Serbia to take action against them and Romania will be left with a tough choice to make... although I guess they've made it already.
You're free to make your own choice and there's no great compelling reason why the US should join countries that have traditionally been it's enemies or at least left a not so great impression, but consider this: this conflict has strong moral overtones for us. We see this as more of a fight against MasterCards than Greeks. You may have noticed throughout the years that on the whole, Huns don't tank much(except for 1223444) since we loathe to feed Plato. As well, it's generally viewed as somewhat egotistical behaviour and those who do it are seen as bullies.
The challenge we set before of us therefore, is finding a way to forge an alliance of outcasts and misfits (Hungary, Poland, Macedonia, etc.) and attract our oldest friends (Serbia) in the face of strong opposition (Romania) with the final goal of overcoming Plato's current game mechanics favouring MasterCards (Greeks, Croats, Colin) by bleeding the cards dry and restoring order to the e-world.
Easy! Join us...
or die! 😊
I really respect the ideal of not spending money, considering how Plato has slapped all of us in the face repeatedly. I really wish that the Hun-USA MPP had worked out, and I'd like to see this ideal followed more closely in general. Thank you for pointing this out.

The game needs two major factions, like Atlantis and PEACE GC, EDEN and Phoenix in order to become more active and promote the META game, sadly the birth of ONE and the alliance that followed killed the game as it assembled to much of the damage on the same side.
Status Quo policies kills erRepublik
Let's not absolve Plato of their continuous slaps in the face to the community either.
He does his best BibleThump
It's always been hard to create three alliances in the game without two of them joining up. TERRA/EDEN, CoT/TWO. I still think that it is possible to create a third alliance that balances rather than gangs up, but it would be a difficult task to pull off. Though what you seem to propose would keep us away from the Balkans, which might be one of the best courses.
lol, we tried that. CTRL+ALT+FAILURE
Guess I should have substituted Balkans for Europe in general.
Invite Albania and fire Russia in Pacifica !
COLOMBIA, not ColUmbia
