Country, we live in interesting times. We are in an era of uncertainty. The dissolution of former alliances and creation of new ones has shifted international politics, while at home we face an ominous PTO threat. The month of March will be a crucial one, as we solidify our position at home and across the world. As a result, we must have a leader that can tackle these problems and bring together the people of the UK for a common cause. Therefore, I am pleased to announce my candidature for Country President.

I’ll start off with a little biography so we can get acquainted. I have been in eRepublik since September 2012, holding multiple positions throughout our government. I have served eight terms as a Congress member (including the current term), where I have advocated for making our government more open and efficient. I am the current Minister of Home Affairs and Minister of Education, serving my second term as MoEd. As a disclaimer, in both my terms I did not start off as MoEd, but due to problems within the Ministry, I was called upon to take charge and fix a collapsing Ministry. Because of this, I have gained invaluable experience is making executive decisions, having turned around a failure and making it a success. I previously served two terms as Party President, where I advocated for improving inter-party relations. This too was a success. It concerns me that petty politics comes into play, which is why I will continue to advocate for inter-party relations during this vital time in our nation’s security.



Over the coming days, I will release my domestics and foreign affairs manifestos. Before that, I shall summarize my three main goals. First, I will create a Citizenship Committee to help us deal with the current PTO threat. It will consist of members from each of the main parties. Second, I want to make sure Congress is effective, by working with the Speaker to implement plans already approved to get Congress functioning properly. Third, I will seek to improve our current foreign affairs situation by reaching out and improving relations with non-aligned nations while working with Sirius to stabilize foreign relations. I know these are vague, but fear not! Details on these policies and much more will be included in the upcoming manifestos.

Today I will open applications for cabinet positions. The structure is simple, virtually the same to previous months. So I will be looking for the following:

• Vice Country President
• Minister of Foreign Affairs +Deputy
• Minister of Defence + Deputy
• Minister of Home Affairs + Deputy
• Minister of Education + Deputy
• Minister of Finance + Deputy

I will also encourage Ministers to appoint apprentices if they see fit so we make the cabinet more accessible to newer citizens that need to get their foot in the door.
