Since TERRA's demise after Brazil left, Russia has been without an alliance. In this time its saw former close TERRA allies, Germany, France and Canada, succumb to aggressive Polish expansion; whilst the two main TERRA powers USA and Brazil have secured a Non-Aggression Pact with Poland and Spain. At this time both the USA and Brazil hold MPPs with Spain; whilst Brazil also have an MPP with Poland.

Bear and Eagle Agreement
The current US president has been carrying out a charm offensive against Brazil and Russia, even talking up a new 'bromance'. (However its worth noting that Russia-Brazil don't currently hold an MPP. And it doesn't look like Brazil is going to grant Russia one as long as they maintain ties with EDEN. This unfortunately is something that wasn't mentioned in the US CP's article.) The 'bromance' tag sounds decidedly desperate, and considering how the last bromance ended -- with Canada being framed and invaded -- that particular title is probably well past its sell-by-date at this point.

The nature of the new US-Brazil-Russia "bromance" seems a stop-gap ploy by the US to re-assert its bonds with old allies Brazil and Russia at a time when both Brazil and Russia are being lined up for inclusion in the new Serbia-Poland-led alliance. How much value can really be placed in "the Bear and Eagle Engagement", described in the article that introduces it with platitudes like "a declaration of mutual respect and awesomeness" and "as a testament to the renewed and lasting love between Russia and the United States". Didn't the US once share this mutual "respect and awesomeness" and "lasting love" with Germany and France? Why aren't we seeing articles extolling how much the US values its bonds with Germany and France -- even Canada?

The answer, of course, is Poland.
Looked at objectively, it appears the US are now completely cowed by Poland. Having entirely forsaken Canada over some BS reason, and in the process cut loose one of the best allies they've ever had or are ever likely to have, they then added insult to injury by offering zero assistance during two Polish wipes or near-wipes of their North American cousins. The situation with Germany and France -- also two former TERRA allies -- isn't any better. Poland have now mostly wiped both nations, in wars that get little mention in US media. What France and Germany have done for the US to turn its back on them, has never been made clear.

The question that has to be asked then: What if Poland decide they wish to go bonus-hunting in Russia? Can the US really be trusted to stand by Russia considering how they've forsaken allies like France, Canada and Germany to Polish expansion?
Is it fair to say the USAF (United States Armed Forces) leadership that have been in charge of the US since World War 5 -- have just run out of ideas? Aren't these "pacts" they're signing with Russia and Brazil just measures they're using to butter up the respective governments of both nations in light of TWO's desire to include both these ex-TERRA heavyweights within their alliance? Without Russia and Brazil, the US is alone. The only option then is seek EDEN membership -- the alternative is a future where its easy pickings to all and sundry -- and we all know EDEN membership is obviously the last thing the US wants.

Is this a general strategy powerhouse countries are secretly adhering to now: sign self-serving MPPs (USA-Brazil, Brazil-Poland, Poland-Serbia, Serbia-Spain, Spain-Brazil, Brazil-Croatia etc. etc.) in order to protect their own interests without a thought for what alliance the other country belongs to, or what other MPPs it shares? Or are the Brazilians trying to freeze Russia out, and force them to give up their EDEN MPPs and commit solely to BrUSA and -- ultimately -- Poland and Spain?
The future looks uncertain...

Brazil rejected MPP with Russia several times because we supported Chile and they - Argentina. But now Brazil itself is drifting towards ex-ONE so the ball is in their court.
To be fair Russia had an MPP with Brazil right up until Brazil left TERRA, and that was long after the Chilean-Argentine incident in TERRA. So how does that explain their reluctance to sign one now?
Interesting article but it only describes what other countries do and want and it doesn't say a word about what Russia plans to do and wants.

Russia has no any sane foreign policy now. Due to internal reasons. That's the root of all problems.
@Wildrunner: Russia continue to fight for old allies and new allies alike, I don't believe any definitive decision has been made in Russia regarding where its future lies, except to acknowledge it probably doesn't lie in either EDEN or Circle of Trust -- so there's nothing to tell at the moment about that stuff. This article aims more at explaining what's going on around and outside of Russia at the moment that still impacts it, rather than explaining what's going on internally.

Answer: I reject the framing of the question. In fact, Serbia/Hungary/Poland are not even pursuing Russia or Brazil, so this is a non-issue.
2) Is this pointless since Russia and Brazil don't share an MPP?
Answer: Don't assume I'm trying to make a new alliance. I'm simply reaffirming commitments of good friends of America.
3) Will this bromance end up like the Brolliance?
Answer: No. Brazil and Russia are not natural geographic neighbors or rivals. The Canadian Brolliance was a convenient way to stabilize relations so that we were not vulnerable on a long border. Canada also historically has had a fierce roleplaying contingent in the way they operate Parliament which annoys many nations, including the USA. Brazil and Russia are not handicapped by this roleplaying obsession.

Why do u think there aren't? For example Bulgaria is pretty stable now when it comes to foreign course, we have nonstop internal crisis of course but they aren't caused by external reasons it's mostly domestic quarrels between parties for power. But in the past ofc we too were on a crossroad and know how it is. Thankfully EDEN with a few moves solved our problems and unified our nation literally overnight after 4 agonizing months.

Lol, well it was you that framed it as a question. It was originally just citing likely motivations behind the "bromance", which I stand by. Also I'm 99% sure TWO have been trying to get Brazil involved in their new alliance.

A new alliance hadn't crossed my mind. It would just be TERRA #2 -- so what would be the point?
The point was why Brazil and Russia don't share an MPP -- that's all. Take that at face value. It has nothing to do with the US.
New Faustian Man, well tbh I think CoT should stop expansion atlest for a while and consolidate and coordinate better the countries that are already in, otherwise it becomes too risky for the alliance for too many reasons. This is my personal opinion of course, others may not share it, I think the alliance the way it is now is in a healthy form. Cooperation with other alliances or group of countries or individual countries that's how I see things for the future.
Russia had a chance to be in CoT from the beginning, you chose otherwise, it's entirely your choice you have your own realities, visions and concerns. Bulgaria-Russia relations well these I think don't depend on alliances anyways.

As a Russian citizen, bringing up the way the US turned its back on a former TERRA ally to the Poles has obvious relevance - which you've failed to address in any way.
I was in the US government (frankly, I'm always in the US government) at the time we invaded Canada. I assure you it was at least partially based on our long-standing annoyance with Canadian roleplayers.
The other part was our frustration with Rylde, his fail leadership, and his desire to obstruct CTRL as much as possible.

Explain then France and Germany's predicament -- and how Russia differs?
It seems France and Germany pulled the short straw because -- and ONLY because -- Poland have already had their "Polish Empire in the East" and fancied a western empire now.
If Poland had wished to return east for bonuses would we not be seeing bromance articles between the US and France/Germany now instead of Russia....?
CoT main enemies are exclusively EDEN countries. Not all EDEN countries but some. CoT is open for cooperation with everyone who isn't a direct enemy like I said.
About dependence, CoT is as much dependant on Serbia as Serbia is dependant on CoT.

For example Bulgaria tried many times to offer a hand for cooperation to USA but USA on their own declared us as an enemy, so you can't say we are limited exclusively to ex-ONE. Brasil isn't ex-ONe either, neither is Canada or many other countries we've tried or trying to cooperate with. Heh even Russia isn't ex-ONE.
The world at the moment is much more complex than some people think it is, it is no longer strictly bi-polar, yes it still has bipolarity but it is not as strict as before.
