{elife) A view from the outside - Aust CP elections - Viado Celtru

Day 3,362, 06:34 Published in Australia Peru by Bank of Rusty D

Greetings eAustralia,

Continuing with our interviews with eAustralian CP nominee’s, I was fortunate enough to sit down with Viado Celtru. While his CP bid is a bit unusual with his first article saying he will be running as a ‘co’ CP with Callumh123, I have decided since he is the one on the ticket, his Q&A will be a greater priority. If time allows, I will try and sit down with Callumh as well.

Viado is currently running on behalf of the Knighthawks as well as being endorsed by the Australian National Party.

Like the Mac Vasco interview, please audience, if you have any follow up questions, feel free to ask them in the comments section.

A Couple of questions...

1) Tell us a bit about yourself in eRep and how you came to be in eAust?

I am a RL Aussie and have played most of my time here in Australia. I started playing at the end of 2009 and was around until sometime in 2012/13. During that time, I did a variety of things including being a Senator (Congressman) multiple times, in several cabinets (back when we needed 10 or more people to have our governments function). I was involved in a variety of military units, the Australian Defence Force, the Crimson Order, Seal Team 6 and probably some others that I have forgotten. After the Indonesian PTO (which was devastating for Australia), I had a short break in Canada before returning to Australia.

A few months ago, I decided to see if this game was still running and was quite surprised to see it was. I still find some of the changes to alliances really hard to get my head around (how the hell did the bromance die? Canada and the USA)

2) Your impressions from your time in eAust?

We are an interesting group. We can unite when we have to but we tear ourselves apart so often. The infighting and grudge holding is something that hasn't changed here. I've generally tried to stay out of that sort of thing and would really like to see more people try to work together instead of holding grudges.

3) Your thoughts and feelings from the past couple months?

The game as a whole and Australia in particular is a pale shadow compared to what it used to be. I've realised I miss a lot of old folks who have left the game. I'm also surprised how many old folks are still around. I would really like to see the scattered Australian community return home to help make out country stronger and more united.

4) Your plans on your CP-ship if elected (please also go into the joint CPship that you mentioned in your article with Callumh)?

My personal focus will be on resolving the Peru situation. Callumh is more interested on the activity/education side of things. We will have a more comprehensive article covering some specifics in the next day or 2.

I'm sure the joint CPship will have some kinks that will need ironing out, but I've known Callumh for years so I am confident we will work well together. We both just want to see Australia grow and improve.
Game mechanics only allow one person to sit in the big chair, however we will be equals and make our decisions jointly along with a small cabinet and consulting with the Congress.

5) Thoughts and feelings on the Peru situation?

Like Mac said, both sides seem to have made mistakes in trying to resolve this in the past. I am hoping that as someone with no personal history with the Peruvian leadership that we can start with a fresh slate and work towards a positive outcome for both our nations. One of my first PMs if I am elected will be to the Peruvian CP to being discussing our situation.

6) and their desire to only talk to people they like?

Australia has always been a multinational community. I remember when the Indonesians had real issues with the Americans we had in leadership positions and tried to dictate that they be removed. Whether its Americans, Canadians, Greeks, Turks or whoever, other nations need to recognise that these different groups call Australia home and they are genuine members of our community. I've always believed that we want the best people leading our nation regardless of where they come from IRL.

That said, I am a real life Aussie, as is Callumh. By the standard that EBM set in his recent article, the Peruvians should have no complaints about negotiating with us. We are happy to start from scratch with them, I just hope they are willing to negotiate in good faith with us.
In finishing...

I would like to thank Viado, for taking the time to talk to me briefly about the upcoming CP elections. If any of our readership has a follow up question, please ask it in the comments and hopefully Viado will be able to give you an answer. I am still awaiting for a response from the third candidate Gorawe and depending on timing, I will try and sit down with Callumh.

If any of you dear readers are interested in my side paper, please check it out here. I am still printing decent articles (well decent in my mind), but due to the international charges, they are being produced in eIreland for the time being.
