{elife) A view from the outside - Aust CP elections - Mac Vasco

Day 3,361, 05:13 Published in Australia Peru by Bank of Rusty D

Greetings eAustralia,

With the leadup to CP elections, ‘A view from the outside’ decided to sit down with the potential CP candidates and ask them a few questions. Originally the plan was to do follow up questions, but due to different reasons (me being very hung over as well as the citizens should be the ones asking the follow up questions), this will not be happening.

First one to respond was Mac Vasco, currently representing the Australian Revolutionary Party with a further endorsement by the Australian Parliamentary Party.

A couple of questions...

1) Tell us a bit about yourself in eRep and how you came to be in eAust?

First of all, hello and thanks for the opportunity for using your platform and your time.

Well I'm just an oldfart here in erep who landed here in eAustralia like 2 years ago following Varnish's Orders with a bunch of zealots from our MU

After our arrival via MTO some of us decided to stay here because it was a great opportunity and we decided to start again once we found that after the first contact, the relationship with the locals was pretty good.

About me here in eRep, well I've been part of many govs and HQs of Military Units, and I think that eRep is a perfect place for meeting new people and keeping my engrish in tip top shape.

2) Your impressions from your time in eAust?

Nice question indeed, well our arrival was a bit "traumatic", you know? We arrived here after a coup, but once we stablished here our relationship improved and to be honest I should say that after 2 years I don't think people see us like a menace to our country. Well actually, I have to say that our community is suffering the inherent vice of this game inactivity, for not talking about how the individual gameplay is above the collective one, unlikely was the original aim of the game, s**t happens but I think if there is a small spark for reviving that fire of liberty and community where all of us were happier in the beginning of the game is in the small countries with a solid citizenship like Australia.

But we need to sit us together and talk, also I would be happier if the expats from the old guard came here again and create a beautiful project working together. Maybe is an utopia, but I think we had and have a lot to give to the eWorld if we cast away our ego and decide in behalf of eAustralia using the currents tools that Ereplabs gives to us.

3) Your thoughts and feelings from the past couple months?

Well, I've been out of the radar in the recent times, I'm in the final exams of the last year of my Degree and I have just been posting links to songs or trolling. But for what I have been reading and talking we have several issues with our membership into Adriatica and our Peruvian affairs. With the heart in my hand, that's just not a question I'm prepared to answer, actually. But I don't think it's a black or white situation, there are too many factors to consider and a challenge that i would love to face, because in my humble opinion I think with communication and goodwill we can mend the relationship between both countries.

4) Your plans on your CP-ship if elected?

Power to the people, we are a democratic country and we must be crystal clear with all our citizens. We are a very small community and we can't afford being playing cloak and daggers games. We must be together in this adventure. The people should feel being part of our country and will be asked via referendum of all our big decisions.

I only can say that my team and myself will give the 110% in behalf of our country and our people´s sovereignty even if their decisions are against my personal opinions. Because as I said before we can't afford that.

Make eAustralia great again LOL

5) Thoughts and feelings on the Peru situation?

Well, for what I can see and some people told me, there have been many mistakes in both sides, I'm going to be honest and many people won't like what I'm going to say, but with our community broken, we could be wiped ad eternum, that won't be something new for us, but is a situation that we should avoid. Sometimes I feel we have champagne taste on a beer budget, maybe some decision we made in the past should be reconsidered, for not talking about that some attitudes from both sides turned into an ego fight also I think the idiomatic barrier didn't help in the understanding between both countries. But this is only a personal opinion like an armchair general, didn't have all the info about the situation and it's something that is a challenge I would love to face.

6) and their desire to only talk to people they like?

I don't support it of course! it's against the sovereignty of our country, on the other hand I could understand it in certain cases, nobody wants to talk with people who is insulting you and your country or is a hater. As I said before I don't think is the best way to keep a cordial and diplomatic relationship, because talking is the path to follow for reaching the understanding even with your worst enemy. We should cast away our egos when those conversations are about something bigger than ourselves.

In finishing....

I would like to thank Mac, for taking the time to talk to me briefly about the upcoming CP elections. Also please beware, as Mac touched on in the interview, English is his second language. While I did correct some parts of the interview, I left the bulk of it the way it was written, as I do not want accidently misinterpret or miss-edit anything. If any of our readership has a follow up question, please ask it in the comments and hopefully Mac will be able to give you an answer.

So please stay tuned for another issue of ‘A view from the outside’.
