[DoFA] A Conversation with an Iranian MoFA

Day 2,341, 04:56 Published in Australia Australia by Australian Foreign Affairs

The last few months have been quite a turbulent time in eRepublik with the collapse of TWO and the formation of the new alliances. Since that time we have witnessed many changes and experienced many uncertainties. It is good to know that during these tough times we are not alone, and that there are other nations who understand our struggles. Take eIran for instance: both eAustralia and eIran have suffered betrayal from former allies; both are being oppressed by superpowers; both nations know what it feels like to go for months on end without a congress; both have had a great relations with each other in the past; and both are currently fighting towards the same goals.

We had a chance to speak with the current MoFA of eIran, Osex, who was kind enough to update us on both former and more recent political circumstances regarding eIran, and also discuss the future of eIran/eAustralian relations.

First of all we would like to thank you for taking the time to expand eAustralia's knowledge of eIran, and update us on current events affecting both our nations. Give us a brief history regarding eIran's geopolitical situation during the past year up until now.

First I wanna to thank you for this interview, I think it is very good work that can help us to improve the eAustralia and eIran relationship once again, and after that I want to say hello and greetings to Australian people from Iran.

Well as you know our country is in the neighborhood of Turkey, Russia, Pakistan and UAE in the middle east. Iran has 12 core regions and also eIran has 2013 active citizens and is standing on the 23rd rank in this game. Also we have a good relationship with Pakistan, and also even Turkey in past times too! But things have changed, the relations between eIran and eTurkey have now been ruined because of a lot of things (Our people believe that Turkey is a selfish country as they have betrayed Iran 3 times). But it does not really matter much anymore, as Iran and Turkey have since chosen a different way from each other, and now Iran is a member of Leto alliance, and Turkey is a member of Sirius. However, now Iran has been wiped by Turkey for more than 3 months, but here we are, we are still surviving, and looking forward to the future in order to improve our relations with our new allies in the Leto alliance, and also keep going and have fun on this game.

"Our country is in the neighborhood of Turkey, Russia, Pakistan and UAE in the middle east. Iran has 12 core regions and also eIran has 2013 active citizens and is standing on the 23rd rank in this game..."

We eAustralians understand your situation in regards to being oppressed by a powerful nation such as eTurkey, we have suffered the same kind of oppression from eChile for a long time, we know what it's like to have no congress and to be under occupation for long stretches of time. In your opinion what is the best strategy for countries like eIran and eAustralia to deal with oppression by bigger powerful nations such as eTurkey and eChile?

Well that's a very interesting question. As you know this game has some big problems inside it, and the admins of this game are also selfish guys who care only for their pockets. So with their strategies, the big and powerful countries become more powerful, and the small and weak countries become weaker... So if our nations want to become powerful one day, and able to defeat their powerful enemies and occupiers, there are little options, unless they have some successful baby boom and increase their active citizens in this game. But as I told you, with the current strategies of eRepublik admins, this game is dying, and there are unfair systems which prevent the acceptance of new players, which does not allow countries to have successful baby booms. So as you can see, in recent years the population of our whole eworld has had a massive decrease, and also now all countries have such big problems with their newbies. However, we have a extra problem in Iran too, eRepublik is filtered in Iran, and as you see it brings hard situations for us too. But we should not feel hopeless, and we must try to work harder. I think now the big alliances only think about damage status, and also they only use the smaller countries for their own benefit, and in the new world no one cares about the small and weak countries anymore. So if we want to have a change in our status with them, we need to work harder with each other, we need to improve our relations with each other, we need to stick together, because I believe that if each of us does our best, we can make a change in our situation finally, and have more fun from this game too, and also experience a real brotherhood with each other
🙂

"We need to work harder with each other, we need to improve our relations with each other, we need to stick together... and also experience a real brotherhood with each other..."

I agree, if smaller nations work together they can be just as powerful as a superpower, that's why smaller nations need to make strong bonds with other smaller nations, and be willing to fight for each other.

How do Iranians feel about all these Non Aggression Pacts (NAPs) which have been made by the larger nations lately?

Personally I think that these NAPs will destroy the alliances in the near future, because as you know the one thing that makes an alliance become a true brotherhood, is a mutual trust. Also, I think that these NAPs are not good for us, because as we all know, the NAPs are made with direct enemies of smaller nations (in which most are current occupiers of some Leto countries). These NAPs are the most wrong actions.. Also these actions appear to illustrate that the Asteria nations only care for their smaller allies when they need them, and call upon the Leto countries in order to help them safeguard their bonuses. That will not work in the future, and I think that we can not make our promised friendship with such an act like these... You see a few weeks ago, some Asteria countries signed an NAP (with Bulgaria) it ended up with Hungary leaving Asteria, and not to mention that it all was one big plan by Sirius/Aurora. So I think before you sign an NAP, you should know that it may lead to bigger things like a "gangbang" on another country or maybe it is just a plan of the enemy...

"Personally I think that these NAPs will destroy the alliances in the near future, because as you know the one thing that makes an alliance become a true brotherhood, is a mutual trust..."

Very well said, I couldn't agree more. When they make these NAPs it puts the smaller nations at more risk of attack and ensures that they will have no chance to defend themselves. The bigger nations use the saved damage to use on the smaller nations, and these bigger nations know that there won't be anyone there to stop them, that's why many of the smaller nations have been outraged by these NAPs lately.

Who are eIran's closest friends at the moment and why?

I think we have some good friends such as eSerbia, eSlovenia, and also ePeru. But personally I think for now eSlovenia and ePeru are our closest friends, eIran has some good relations and history with these countries till now. We have some old and nostalgic relations with eSerbia because many eIranian people have eSerbian CS, and both nations have always helped each other out on the battlefield, eIran has had some big influence on eSerbian history too. Also I want to add that ePeru is an amazing country, and each country who shares a friendship with them is very much in luck! Personally, I admire ePeru for their honorable and warrior-like players in this game.

"I think we have some good friends such as eSerbia, eSlovenia, and also ePeru. But personally I think for now eSlovenia and ePeru are our closest friends..."

It's funny that you mention ePeru, because towards the end of the TWO alliance break-up, eAustralia started to sign MPPs with them, as they were also being oppressed by eChile. Since that time ePeru has also become one of eAustralia's best and most trusted allies. We feel very much the same as eIranians feel about ePeru. We also had a relatively good past with eSerbia and eSlovenia during TWO, and eAustralia has commenced MPPs with both countries.

eAustralia and eIran have had a relatively good past together. We remember an incident when eIran did an Airstrike on eIndonesia in order to protect us. Do you know much about the past history between eIran and eAustralia?

Yeah of course I remember that operation too. Iran proposed an AirStrike on Indonesia in which there were two goals: The first one was helping our allies from the gangbang which eIndonesia was orchestrating, and to provide assistance to eAustralia in the freedom operation at that time. Also a few months before that time eIndonesia decided to launch an AS against us, (notice that Iran and Indonesia had a good history with each other and in past times the relations between Iran and Indonesia was very very good) and attacked our core regions. However, finally we succeeded in defeating them and defended our country against them. So with the all things that I mentioned, we wanted revenge on Indonesia too.

Iran and Australia have a very good and bright relationship with each other. Lots of eIranian players had eAustralian CS many times in the past, and Iranian people assisted eAustralia many times in many big battles too. If I could say it in one sentence: Yes eIran and eAustralia were very good friends in the past, and still now Iranian people have a very good perception of Australian people too
🙂

"Yes eIran and eAustralia were very good friends in the past, and still now Iranian people have a very good perception of Australian people too..."

The feeling is mutual 🙂 We hope to assist eIran in any future freedom operations, and we will be reinstating the signing of MPPs with eIran very shortly. We are very much humbled to have the opportunity to work with a trusted and loyal friend from our past, and to know that eIran is on our side.

We would like to thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. It has been a privilege to have the opportunity to speak to you. Are there any final thoughts you would like to share with the eAustralian community before we wrap it up?

Thanks mate and also it has been a privilege to have the opportunity to speak to the great Australian people too 🙂
Yeah I want to say greetings from the Iranian people to our Australian friends once again, and also hope that in the near future eIran and eAustralia can be together and fight with each other once again, and I wish that both the Iranian and Australian nations will be in good shape and continue to have friendly relations with each other too.
And finally thanks again for the chance of this interview
🙂
