This will be the first in a series of articles that aim to extend our educational material on the meta-game.



ORGANIZATION:

The Department of Education is part of the Executive Branch. Created by the President under the authority derived from Section III of the eUS Constitution.

The Department is headed by the Secretary who reports directly to the President or a designated adviser.

The Secretary of Education is in charge of implementing the goals of the Department developed in concurrence with the President. In order to do so, the Secretary hires and overseers a staff of dedicated citizens who run the programs of the Department.



GOALS:

The stated goal and mission of the Department of Education is increasing the eWorld knowledge of eUS citizens, and providing readily accessible material that might aid our citizens in their understanding of the eWorld and the eUS in particular. Explaining game mechanics in an easy to understand manner is a huge part of the Department's mission.



PROGRAMS:

To complete its goals and mission, the Department of Education utilizes educational programs. Programs are developed by the staff and approved by the Secretary of Education. Programs run by the Department change with time and with the present need of the country; however, there are a few programs of the Department that are almost permanent fixtures.

1. Guides:
The Department regularly produces guides on different aspects of general game-play and aspects related to eUS game-play. These guides are a key component in meeting the goal of educating citizens on all aspects of the game.

2. Question of the Day:
Question of the Day (QoTD) is a program run by the Department which offers eUS citizens daily rewards for correct answers to specific questions. This has been a very useful tool in keeping eUS citizens knowledgeable on a diverse array of eWorld related subjects.



FUNDING:

The Department of Education operates an entirely volunteer work staff as does every other Department in the eUS government. Even so, it still requires a significant amount of funding to successfully execute its mission. The Department depends entirely on fundraising and generous donations as its source of funding. The Secretary who is in-charge of Department finances throws a fundraiser event when it is determined the finances are running low, and the generous citizens of the eUS contribute to the cause.
