[ Day 2313 ] [ Test ] Poor Man’s Raffle

That’s right this is a test. I haven’t consulted anyone or bothered to look and see if something like this has worked anywhere else before.

We are almost certainly going to be wiped. What this means, is that we will not get any production bonuses towards Food and Weapons.

That is all.

( yes, congress, politics, blah blah, I’m talking about your average 3 – 7 click player )

The simple truth of the matter, is that the only way for a country to be destroyed, is for the community to cease to be. As long as we are active, and keep giving each other reasons to log in other than Hard Worker medals. As long as we have a reason to log in, a reason to be involved we will not die out.

Hell, if there’s enough going on, we might even be able to turn some 2 clickers into fighting, travelling, article posting, full-fledged members of the community with a decided interest in the future of eAustralia.

My contribution to this will be to host a daily raffle. There will be a cost to enter, and the prizes will increase depending on how many folks take part. It will literally be a case of wealth re-distribution.

Everyone likes a chance to get free stuff, but I like things to be at the very least moderately fair. This means, that there will only be 1 entry per person.

Ideally I will try and hold one of these every 2 – 3 days, depending on the success, as I get the feeling that it might turn into a fair bit of extra work…

The prizes will be adjusted depending on the number of folks who buy in, but the entry fee shouldn’t be too steep, even for new players ( about $7 according to current market price ).

As you may have notices, it’s called the ‘Poor Man’s Raffle’. This is because it will be involving Lvl 2 Food and Lvl 2 Weaps only, both in entry fee and prizes.

If this is actually successful, it might even be worth having the government running a Lvl 5-7 one for all you rich folk out there, as a little extra revenue raising.

These are the Guaranteed Prizes. If less than 20 people sign up, then I lose money. If more than 20 sign up, then there will be extra prizes for every 5 people.

( If we get 29 people in on this, then 4th place will get 10x Lvl 2 Weapons and 250x Lvl 2 Food, and I get to keep the other 4 entries as a ‘fee’ 😃 )

As I mentioned before there is only 1 entry per person. HOWEVER – should someone decide to buy in with MORE ( in multiples of the Raffle Entry ) than the Raffle Entry, that extra will be put towards the prizes, and they will get a Honourable mention in the Winner Announcement, and the next Raffle.

( If 29 people buy in, but 1 decides to put in 2x the entry fee, then both 4th and 5th will get prizes, leaving me with nothing, and them with a honourable mention. Seems fair I guess ..)

p.s. as I mentioned before, this is just an extra incentive for folks to log on, interact with each other, and get involved in the community

p.p.s. the reason I chose Lvl 2 is because that is what Lvl my Factories currently are, so if things go horribly wrong, I’m pretty safe to be able to cover.

p.p.p.s. yeah, I’m installing Office sometime over the weekend, so things might look a little more prettyful in future

p.p.p.p.s. I’m not sure if I want to include logos, pictures and stuff. Yes it looks nice and all that, but I’ve already set a pattern, and I don’t really want to lose the whole something // wall’o text sign off … hmm…
