Currently getting voted down by congress

This is a DO from an MU, since we dont have a MoD or any government issued DO. It has nothing to do with MPPs.

I am not in congress, so what is happening there, I wouldn't have a clue. But I was told Latvia was already told no for theirs.... has it been voted on already?

We don't have a MoD as congress won't let them in along with any MPP's for the month

why dont they get a stand in MoD to do it? That would be a quick fix.

Also why plan on having a nonCS person take government roles with out them being in the country?

trolls/moles? who are you talking about? I used Kattrrina and Theolor as my DoD and I updated the orders when I could as well. Considering other countries thanked us for the military effort, I dont see that as being bad for the country.

See with all your comments, you could of edited a DoD article by now, rather then try and paint me as a bad person, maybe you should put your energy to better uses.

I never said he did, my original comment was that if they have a missing MoD or the position is assigned to someone who doesnt have Australian CS yet, they could have a stand in until that time when the MoD comes on board.

He kept trolling and I made the point that in the time it took him to troll this CFH paper and my shout box, it would of been enough time to edit a paper.

Which he inturn replied that he could of edited an article. I never stated that he had access to any Orgs. As far as I am aware, only two government spots have been filled CP/Dic: JT and vCP: freegigi

That's why I rose my question. I was curious if Guag is our new MoD or something like that because only players in that department and CP shoud edit/publish battle orders from DoD newspaper.

I agree with J that having someone with out CS is a bad idea for cabinet, even if they were a long time Aussie, but I am happy to have clarified it with you. Maybe my English has been a bit slack, but when I wrote '... you could of edited (a) DoD..." was more in reference to the time it took for the trolling he was doing.

But it does bring to light the desire of having people who are yet to have come into the country in cabinet posts. Maybe if the government was to get people already with CS to fill government spots, until their desired person comes in, it would make for a better working government, I remember the workload that CPs have in the first week, and any help is better then no help.

I still can't understand what stops JT to give CS to Clorofila. He should have some passes left.

going from his CP article, I believe it is finding opposition in the congress vote. But that is a guess as I am out side the closed doors.

If I was Dic I wouldn't ask the congres for CS approval if I know the applicants well. Don't you think so - you have experience?

By rights as per game mechanics, you could let one person in (use of CS pass). But here is where it gets tricky:

- What if you think the person is good, but a lot of others dont? wouldnt that be abuse of dic powers?

- If your using the normal game mechanics, by rights you could only let one person in, so if you bypass congress for that one, each congress person can do a free for all on the rest.

- What would the public's reaction be? I let in people who I believe were good for eAustralia, that was after checking them out (reference) as well as from my own knowledge and asking some congress members. But people accused me of political manipulation and 'stacking the deck' etc etc. So by going off that, would the public accept letting people in?

To keep the masses happy, I went back to a congress vote, even if it did result in people abusing me in congress (accusing me of delaying and political manipulation, cant win either way) and abused by PM, by people who thought they should walk straight back into the country.

So all in all it could be tricky.

You let those player in and now they are congress members. That is good but you never asked the others about accepting them in Australia. They are very unknown and now they have the full right to vote and to control all domestic and foreign affairs. Is that fair or it is another tricky moment?

I don't remember the vote Rusty. I do remember questioning you about giving cs to un-approved applicants who were all joining the RSU upon entry into eAus.

with them joining the RSU, that is up to the people to tell you why. We are a multi party democracy, so people will choose what ever party suits. I know when I started to play eRep I joined the ADP because Hugh was CP and he was from the ADP. It was solely based on the CP came from that party.

At the time it all looked quite shady to me and I even mentioned as much in the congress thread. I don't screen shot conversations so anything I say cannot be corroborated by me so I usually just let things go.

Dont worry Lany, your suspicions made me go back to the congress vote, I do listen 🙂 and when you thought something was shady, I went back to the congress vote (hence why I know those 3 were voted on).

But now we have the same situation from what I understand (only going by the comments), that someone wants to let 2 people in, but some elements in congress are saying no to it. While having a congress vote on everything can some times lead to people think ill things about members, it can also provide a good checks and balances.

The new congress must be more vocal than the ones I participated in if they can't even approve 2 cs apps. 🙂

I would be surprised if congress members have been awoken by their slumber. I always found it hard to get peoples involvement. So is it because the leadership has manage to light a fire cracker under their congress seats or are the two people divisive figures?

Probably divisive figures and/or a couple senators who don't like JT.

The new congress is just as unvocal, if not more so than it was just recently under Rusty. A lot of people are voting no on the CS and MPP without providing explanations. It's a close vote on some of them presently. I think Jack is just letting the vote run longer than usual to let as many vote as possible. 18 have voted so far, and yes Latvia looks the least likely as it stands.

Gudz, last term I asked someone why they voted 'no', I got abused, and accused of trying to influence their decision. The fact is when people drop a vote in a ballot box, it is a 'yes' and 'no' vote, not a 'no, because....'

Also extending the vote? shouldnt their be a set time limit? otherwise other votes might be extended if it suits.... just saying. Plus if you know the country history you would know why some people might not agree with CS and some might agree/disagree with some MPPs.
