[Alliances] The balance of power

Day 3,080, 01:53 Published in Romania Romania by Raul Doru

Hello again dear readers!
I will write today about the changes in the system of alliances and the balance of power in eRepublik. Remember that this is my personal opinion. I am not an official of my country nor I express the point of view of any alliance.

As you all know, in the last period we've witnessed some changes in the system of alliances in eRepublik. Some were transformed and new ones appeared. Some people are saying that the domination of ASTERIA in the game has come to an end and other alliances will take its places.
Let's analyse a bit every alliance and see the real balance of power, in this moment of the game.

1. ASTERIA

After Argentina and Brazil left ASTERIA, the alliance seems to have lost some of its damage, especially during the night (in European time zone). Now it has only 5 members (Serbia, Romania, Slovenia, Portugal and China). It may look somehow weak compared to other alliances, but don't forget that here still are number 1 and 2 top damage countries, Serbia and Romania (according to last week damage statistics).
In my opinion, ASTERIA is not in an immediate danger, taking into consideration that the hostile countries are not united and the biggest alliance now, PACIFICA, is more "pro" than "anti" ASTERIA.

2. PACIFICA

The former alliance of USA and Russia, PACIFICA got its strength after Greece, Hungary, Poland, Argentina and Brazil have joined in. Other members are Finland, Latvia, Colombia, Sweden and Republic of China (Taiwan). As you can see, in this very moment, PACIFICA doesn't seem to pose an immediate danger for ASTERIA. Some of its members have had for a long time a neutral position toward ASTERIA (like USA, Russia, Poland and lately Greece), others have MPPs signed with ASTERIA members (Finland, Latvia, Colombia or Taiwan)and some have very close relations with those countries (Argentina and Brazil with Romania, Serbia and Portugal or Hungary with Serbia and Slovenia).
I also had to mention here that, according to Argentinian point of view, Hungary was planted in PACIFICA by ASTERIA, to keep the alliance on a "pro" orientation toward Asterian interests. This is nonsense, just like Hungarian theory, based on what Argentina is a Trojan horse in PACIFICA, to promote Croatia and Chile's interests.
We will see how things will evolve in PACIFICA, especially taking into consideration the animosity between Argentina or Greece and Hungary.

3. ADRIATICA

ADRIATICA is an alliance created by Croatia, to be a balance of ASTERIA's power. Its other members are Italy, Venezuela, Thailand, Albania, Georgia and, just when I'm writing this article, Chile has joined in, increasing the damage of ADRIATICA. Other countries who are expecting to join in the following days are Cyprus and Ireland. As you can see, this is a totally hostile alliance toward ASTERIA and could be its main opponent. Don't forget that, in a potential conflict, ADRIATICA will benefit from the damage of other non-aligned (till now at least) countries like Turkey, Indonesia or Mexico.

4. PLUTO

PLUTO is an alliance formed by Spain, United Kingdom, Belgium, South Korea, Paraguay and Bolivia. As you can see, this is another alliance hostile to ASTERIA. Even if they don't have a huge damage (Spain is now far from the power in old times, mainly because their internal problems), could be decisive in a world conflict, on ADRIATICA's side. And they have the advantage of an balanced day/night damage.

5. ORION

ORION is a pro-ASTERIA alliance, formed by Iran, France, Canada, Netherlands, Lithuania and Peru. All this countries have MPPs and close ties with ASTERIA members and also with some PACIFICA states. It is obvious that in a conflict they will fight by ASTERIA's side.
In my personal opinion, with Argentina and Brazil leaving the alliance, Iran should be invited in ASTERIA as a full member.

6. NEBULA

NEBULA is an alliance composed by Austria, Czech Republic, Japan, Australia, Israel, Uruguay and Montenegro. Its position in the system of alliances seems somehow unclear, some of its members having MPPs or relations with ASTERIA (Montenegro or Israel), others with PACIFICA (Czech Republic, Japan or Australia) or none at all (Austria and Uruguay).

7. BANANA

In this very moment, BANANA alliance, once a merry group of countries, has only 2 members, Germany and Cyprus. In my opinion, BANANA will soon disband, with Cyprus joining ADRIATICA and also Germany (or at least a pro-ADRIATICA alliance).

8. NON-ALIGNED

Beside those alliance, we still have some non-aligned countries, some of them, like Bulgaria, Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), Turkey or Indonesia, with a significant damage. Even if they look anti-ASTERIA countries, much has change in the game.
In my personal opinion, to balance the loss of Argentina and Brazil, and to counterbalance the influence of ADRIATICA or (who knows) even PACIFICA, ASTERIA members should propose MPPs with Bulgaria and, maybe, even send an invitation for Bulgaria to join the alliance.
