#88 The Good, the Bad, and the Military Module

Day 1,666, 03:22 Published in Slovenia United Kingdom by Gambit8

Hello Readers,

Now everyone knows about the new military module, but I’m just going to briefly cover some of the good and bad points of the change. As it goes most people are disappointed with the new change purely because the admins are the ones that made the change and so it must be bad.

The Positives
A very big positive is that there is less likely to be cheating when it comes to bots. There have been numerous accounts of new players being created, getting a punch of bazookas and between them doing enormous amount of damage, but now there won’t be any point as the effort of creating them and the threat of getting ban is not worth a measly 1 point as the new players will be placed into Division I.

You can make a difference. Or at least it appears so, either way, it boosts your interest in the game to see you yourself move the bar in your favour. In the battle of Corsica, Slovenia were 1,200 points behind in Division III and I moved the bar up and as it was late at night we went on to win as there was now no real opposition, I felt like I made a big difference even if it was just to win 3 points.

Battle Hero Medals. Of course (Or at least I assume it to be) there will be battle hero medals given to people in each Division which means 4 BH medals per battle with a possible of 15 battles so that’s 60 BH medals given out in one campaign or 120 in total for both sides, but the campaign hero remains at just 1 as that counts all the Division into 1.

Tactics. This is the core of the military module. If you get the tactics right, you usually win. With 4 divisions you can direct a military unit to fight in whichever division needs fighting while letting the other division fight elsewhere giving maximum efficiency and getting all soldiers a chance to make a visible difference.

Romper Smash! Nope. Not anymore. Admittedly, 5 points is a lot to win for the country but if a country is losing all the other divisions and the tanks only manage to boost Division IV you’ll lose by 1 point per battle.

The Negatives
1 Point. Not a lot to be fair, and if you’re a noob fighting all you can for your country and you win 1 point, it’s really not a lot. Admittedly, this can also go into the positives as a noob winning an entire point for their country is a big deal, but on the scale of things, it’s rather insignificant.

5 Points. A lot. Is Division IV is winning it seems rather unfair that you’ll have to be winning in every other Division to win. I can however see why they did this because if Division IV was to only earn 4 points then you’re in danger of a possible, however unlikely, draw. And I doubt anybody would be too happy for a draw. It would be much better if all the Divisions earnt 1 more point. So Division I would earn 2, Division II would earn 3, Division III would earn 4 and Division IV would earn 6. I think that’d level things out a bit. Or you could perhaps add another Division to go in between III and IV which would be a much better idea.

This is another one that may contradict one of the positives. One was that you feel like you have more power. But it could also do the opposite. Your Division is home and dry for this battle, but all the other Divisions are losing? Your orders are here but you don’t want to waste your damage, so you must take your damage elsewhere and you feel powerless to help your country win. In the UK versus Ireland in Scotland, the UK were winning both Division II and III. Division III had pretty much won this battle. Division I and IV weren’t doing so good and this may link into my last point about Division IV being able to produce too much points and making too much of a difference when so few people are in those Divisions.

Division IV is relatively unpopulated. Usually only two or three people will be fighting there every battle and it’s usually a very one-sided battle and it seems rather unfair that you can win a battle so easily and be able to grab so many points from it. So you could either create another Division between III and IV or make Division IV’s points the same as Division III.

Thanks for reading, perhaps you guys have better solutions to the problems than I do and if you do then please comment we’d all like to hear what you guys have to say.
