Fellow citizens,

We have recently had to endure fail upon fail from our great government. This is unacceptable. Uncle Sam and his hasty planning have led us down the road to public shame. The PEACE propaganda machine has had plenty to work with Sam's diplomatic and strategic skills coming into question, resulting in the seventh impeachment attempt in three and a half presidents. The upper levels of this government are out of control in some areas, and as a citizen of this country it worries me. I think it should worry you too. The military has lost all confidence in our leadership. The congress has argued endlessly and rejected some ideas that are good for this country. This needs to stop.

America needs to witness a coming together of the federal government. No, I am not saying we all have to agree on every minute detail nor should we, but politicians need to realize that this country comes first, not its officials. We need the defense of this country to be a priority, as PEACE is our new neighbor. We cannot let our borders be compromised due to ill planned defense. It is up to you, me, congress, and all that live within our borders to unite together. I am of the firm belief that the President of our great nation should hold the trust of the American people. Congress holds an enormous amount of power in this game, and it needs to be balanced by a trustworthy and transparent executive branch.

And that time is now!

I, John Jay, being of questionable mind, but excellent body, here and now announce my candidacy for the office of President of the United States. I have assumed a leadership role in our military for many months and I have a good working relationship there. I feel now is the time to bring a new approach to D.C. and I am up to the challenge..... But that's not all!!!

The Vice President.

Until recently, not a very strong position. When he took over the spot two terms ago, Joe Dasmoe set a precedent for hard working Vice-Presidents. As a result, he is my choice to assume that position again. Over the months, I have come to respect deeply this patriot's work ethic and dedication to both government and military. I have come to know him well and I know that he will truly be the people's Vice-President, as he has shown in the past. This officially begins the John Jay/Joe Dasmoe campaign for the April election. Joe an I will bring a new era for America, one of strength, prosperity and unity.

Which brings me to my platform. I'm going to hit on a few points that I feel are important for Americans to consider when you cast your vote on April 5th.

Military/ATLANTIS

I want to open this by commenting on the latter first. Many of you feel this alliance is crumbling and the US should leave it. Many are outraged that we actually paid fines for starting a war. Well, I only slightly disagree, and I will explain.

ATLANTIS is our alliance. To be frank, without this alliance, we would probably be swallowed up in another imperialistic takeover by PEACE. Let's face it, these people are our friends, and more often than not they come to our aid when needed. As a nation, I believe we should stand by this alliance for the time we are a part of it. As far as the fines go, ATLANTIS has a charter, and we must follow it. We cannot walk around doing things directly against a charter and expect to be exonerated for it without prejudice. I agree with Sam's move on this, because if we cannot honor a charter, then what kind of country are we? Sam took the steps we needed to take to keep ourselves safe. For that, I cannot knock him.

However, I am unhappy with the response by ATLANTIS to the Mexican war, and especially angry at people like Dish, who showed his traitorous side by supporting the fight AGAINST the very country he led. I do believe this was the tipping point in America's relations with ATLANTIS. With that said, I am open to a third alliance forming, and maybe being a part of it. I think it may be time for a third alliance, as the PEACE/ATLANTIS feud is tired, at best. We Americans have always been leaders in the e-world for change, and if a third alliance would prove beneficial to the US, it should and would be considered.

The military as it stands now.

I must say I have been honored to lead the Marines that I have. Being Lt. General in an outfit as good as this has been fun. Well, not all fun, but at least the people under me are some of the best in the game. They need to be properly supported and funded. If elected, I will support all three branches of our Armed Forces, because after all placing weapons into the hands of our soldiers is key to strengthening our fighting men and women.

I have seen this military grow exponentially under Sam's {ahem} "leadership." We have raised our strength to 3.04 overall, from 2.86 before the Mexican war. You may say, "But John Jay, a .18 jump doesn't sound like much. Why are you touting such a minute number?" Easy answer: .18 is a hell of a lot when you consider our overall population of 12K plus. The battles in Mexico went a long way towards strengthening us as a nation. Although Sam's planning was poor, the end result was just what we needed.

Two problems come to the forefront with the state of our military: Lack of funding and the need for better organization.
The Army is improving under the leadership of Smyrstar, with more to be done. The NG and the Marines are coming along very well, and that is a credit to their generals. BUT. There will be change. I want to make it understood before I start, I do not intend to remove/add leadership nor do I intend to affect it's structure in anyway. I will propose that a permanent communication line be implemented with a complete system of record keeping and liability for each branch. I will instruct the Joint Chiefs to form an accounting department for each branch, to work out of the QMG's office. We need accountability, we need bean counters. With the nationalization of weapons companies and supply lines being stretched daily to meet the needs of our troops, we need people there that will only be concerned with the proper and recorded use of your tax dollars.

On the subject of the JCS, I will be keeping Joeph in the Chairman's spot as long as he will have it. I believe he has shown the leadership in past months to warrant his retention to this position. Among others, Leroy Combs will also be kept, as he is an excellent advisor. I will call on the JCS to revamp lines of communication and ask them to place the most active and dependable soldiers in leadership roles.

Finally, RAWR. I have been presented with many different plans to make permanent RW's and peaceful troop building a priority. I have looked into these plans and have decided all are plausible. Long story short, look for agreements and deals to be struck by my administration with our direct neighbors to build our armies cheaply and efficiently. This is key in making our army the strongest in the world.

Foreign Relations

Foreign relations in my mind have been kept acceptable by the current SoS and his staff. However, concurrent with my theme, there will be change. I have tapped the future of the Conservative Party, Time, to be my Secretary of State. He has shown before the leadership qualities needed in this position. Together, with his staff, he will bring us to the next level in foreign relations.

Goals: To make peace a reality with our current enemies that want it. Mexico, heh, let's face it, strategic and CIC blunders put us well behind in this war before it even started. As for Portugal, I personally apologize to you for our behavior. An all out attack on your country for the "lulz" was completely unnecessary, nor was it advised. Negotiating a peaceful end to this conflict is high on my list of priorities. It is time that nations we are in conflict with actually get to negotiate with adults, as the way it should be.

To all governments in the e-worl😛 I will mandate that the US government make headway in discussing with each and every one of you the futures of our countries economically and diplomatically. I want to bring the era of bad feelings to an end. Many nations hate us. It is time for that to change.

Economy
The overall state of the economy is good. The PANEC taxes have not made us rich, but have given us leeway in military operations that we did not have before. The value of the dollar continues to increase, and overall I have to credit the current Economic Council for their efforts. BUT. The days of the Economic Council being ignored by POTUS are over.

I have selected Jewitt to head my EC. I mean let's face it, the guy is simply amazing. Definitely my favorite Jew. He brings his vast knowledge of our economy to the post, and will be my eyes and ears on all economic concerns. I will petition him from day one to have the EC come up with a tax plan that will reduce the income tax while balancing it with VAT and import increases to maintain our income, while taking the pressure off our working people. Because in reality, these are the people paying for our fun. Business owners all over the US know how to evade these taxes. I am tired of the country prospering on the backs of the new citizen. Once completed, the EC will work with the congress to pass these taxes into law, and put more money back into our population's pockets.

Lulz
It's funny. I hear this is the number one issue with America in the e-world today. To be honest, lack of lulz has never been an issue in my game. I am a marine, active in my political parties, as well as a business owner for the organization Tennessee Valley Authority. As it sits right now, I have all the lulz I need, because I make them for myself. Now I know I cannot please everyone, but I would like to hear your ideas on how to make YOUR game more enjoyable. This country was built on fun, with a little seriousness sprinkled in. Let's get back to that.

In conclusion,
We as a country need to heal. The past administrations have done nothing but frustrate and confuse the nation as a whole. It is time for change.
Past presidents have used the gullibility of their citizenry to do what they need to do to make a name for themselves. It is time for change.
Past administrations have tried to control congress, to the point where congress is now fighting back. It is time for change.
Military funding is at an all time low, and impeachment has riddled our government. It is time for change.

In the upcoming ten days, there will be a lot said about how this country is on the right track, and nothing should be changed. You will hear that past presidents have just been misunderstood, and they were doing just fine until someone screwed it up. You will hear that this country does not need change, it needs the status quo. WRONG. None of my opponents will change this government like I will. It is time for change, and if you vote John Jay/ Joe Dasmoe on April 5th, You will see your vote put to work.
