Why I voted no to rent Manitoba.
Muglack
It's really quite simple. Dade posted in Closed Door and came across as a total prick job. He insulted Congress, basically called us idiots and told us he could do whatever he wanted and didn't need Congress approval to do anything. Then he asked what we thought about it.
I thought he was acting like a prick, so I said no. If he wanted to do it he would of done it. He made that perfectly clear.
Maybe the question you should be asking is "why did Dade listen to congress when he made it abundantly clear he didn't need to?" and not "Why did Congresspeople vote a certain way after being insulted and degraded not only by the PM but by his cabinet ministers that had no right or reason to be part of the conversation." (I'm looking at your KyleDR and steam7).
Maybe that line of questions will get you further down the line.

Sure, you might not like him, but that's not really the issue that you have to think about.
As a Congress member who has to vote on an issue, the question you need to ask yourself about the issue is: Is this good for the country?
It has nothing to do with your personal feelings towards the President. It has to do with what's best for all.
I read it and what you said is basically true.
I was actually so impressed with the class of a number of your congressmen/parlimentarians that for a while I longed to be Canadian.
I still do a little tbh.
Thanks for the ethics lesson. Have you met my good friend kettle?
The fact is the numbers didn't add up and the deal was being guaranteed by EDEN. They weren't paying up front. And there's no way the region was worth what they were offering economically which means that when it fell short we'd get shafted.
All of those are minor issues. On their own I probably would of had to give it more serious thought.
But like I said the main reason is the one in the article. He came in insulting and calling us out. Telling us he didn't need us and he could do it anyway if he wanted to. Cabinet ministers with no reason to be in the conversation acted the same way. Hell even 1ronman was posting.
Then after he shits on congress for a while he demands a vote that he just finished telling us he didn't need.
Why would I vote yes on that? It's solidly in the grey area as a proposal from the start, but it's game so I'd be willing to roll the dice. Then you add all the bullshit on top of it and you basically push me firmly into a "No" vote.
Pimp speaks words of wisdom.
Next, Spencer Magee will amaze Congress with his grace and awesome proposals.
What is this country coming to!?
Actually, Spencer is planning on being more serious in congress this term...
The biggest supporter of the supposed plan to get Canada more gold per month than the entire country of Poland makes, was none other than 1ronman.
That should tell everyone enough right there (as to if you would have ever seen one ounce of gold). Not likely.
Citizen B
Yeah... did you just seriously admit to doing something simply out of spite? oh loooooooooooooooooooool "And the eDouche award goes to..."
"And the eDouche award goes to..."
1ronman...
Don't forget the term before last we got railroaded into declaring war on France and we all know how well that turned out.
1ronman was the absolute WORST choice to advocate for the proposal, and Dade didn't help by attempting to moderate.
Xzar- how could I forget? With every new problem someone always has to point and say, "WELL! This isn't as bad as what HE did!" and I am tired of it.
1ronman gets to be in a class of his own, he's graduated Douchedom to become.. just an asshole. I've seen plenty of whining in this game, but 1ronman takes the cake on being a little girl. I have never, in all my life, seen such a drama queen.
And this constant referral to Royal Gluteus only feeds an over sized ego and helps keep us distracted from the newer issues... as they keep happening.
What we have here is someone admitting to not doing his job for the simple sake of his PERSONAL pride. Everyone in Congress is clamoring about how they did it for "eCanada" and I see none of that here. I appreciate his honesty at least, but that doesn't make this any more right
