Hiya all. I realise I've been very quiet of late, and figured a few people might be interested to know what's happening, from one of eAustralia's Senator/Cabinet Ministers. Please realise, a lot of our work is classified under the Government Secrets Act, and thus I can only tell you what you could all find out yourselves if you asked, but I understand a lot of people don't like the forums / irc, I thought this might be helpful There will also be a few notes in here about the Hawks MU, hence the title

Senate
We've spent a lot of time cleaning up the Senate internally, as anyone watching may have noticed. Too often has one Senator or another decided that this outdated act, or that slight wording alteration, means that they're right any everyone else can go to hell, so we've focused a lot on that. Our financial Act is being reformed to bring all Cabinet Departments into line, and allow for more flexible funding of budgets. The requirements to throw eAustralia into a war are being refined, this is too allow us not only to know 100% when we're at war, but also who, why, and for how long; this is clearing up a lot of debate about whether the PM can simply re-declare NE, or whether the Senate needs to be consulted each time. Finally, the heart of all of our problems lately, our entire constitution is being looked at (I can't say it's being reviewed, as that requires a referendum). This is going to be a big job, but we're making headway and, hopefully, when we're done we'll have better groundwork for our future Senators, so there's less sh*t fights.

Cabinet - Minister of Defence
Phew, this one lost me a bit of sleep! Unfortunately, most everything that we're working on is considered a government secret, but hopefully I can give you an idea as too how much work is already under way - and we're only two says into the term! First off, I'm pleased to say that I've been granted the position of Minister of Defence, a serious promotion as I only started in the DoD last month, but I hope I can do both Marcos Arolia, and my former MoD, GregMaCGregor proud in my actions. Next as announced last month, the ADF Marshal Malgoo is retiring from his position, I feel confident now announcing that our former PM, Majester, will be taking his place over the next week or so. This may not be a permanent appointment, but he is covering us in a very tight spot, so my thanks to him! The specifics of the ADF are still being talked about on the highest levels, but I think I'm safe saying that we're trying to get a lot more people involved The one thing everyone will be reading this section for, I'm afraid, is going to be the most disappointing. I cannot reveal details about our war efforts with eNew Zealand. There has been massive progress, but unfortunately, it's all classified - for now, just keep fighting where the DoD Daily Orders say

The Hawks
This has been close to a month coming, but early last week I accepted the Commander position in the Hawks Military Unit. So far, I regret to say, I've made little headway as my workload (real life here folks ) prohibits too much time online, but I do have some interesting plans that have already started. In the coming weeks there will be war-games, training exercises and hopefully coordinated mass strike efforts. Another piece of news on this front is the Hawks wide (including the KHs) raising of supplies; I can't take credit for that, but I am glad to announce it. Henry the 8th, our beloved overlord, decided to actually pay us a salary - the present rate of supply is $50aud, 10 q6 tanks and 60 q5 food every day. The Aud is an interesting idea, and is designed to promote upgrading personal infrastructure, travelling to fight in RWs and investing to aid personal growth. While the more experienced players will have little need for it, this new bonus should help give our new players an edge in this harsh, cold, eWorld.
