The Man with 3 Gloves

Day 1,739, 12:05 Published in USA USA by GloveisLove

Good afternoon world,

Recently Plato kindly introduced something called "Battle of the Alliances!"

Unfortunately, or rather perhaps fortunately, we have no alliance.

This lead to a large number of nations wanting to give Plato the finger by creating something subtly called Fraternal Union of Countries and Kingdoms - Unofficial.

The idea of this union was to get the world to unite under a single banner.

Ein Volk.

Ein Reich.

Ein Liseli.

Like the illuminati?

Anyways, so I was all excited, up until this morning, in which I discovered that last night, Spain, Poland, Brazil, and apparently some other nations had a meeting. USA was not in attendance. Or at least I wasn't, I was too busy being blacked out.

Oops.

So this morning I discovered that Fraternal Union of Countries and Kingdoms - Unofficial has been renamed to "4FUN" So I joined to be with Spain and Brazil.

A much lamer name in my opinion.

Anyways, this whole alliance battle thing is rather silly, but before you get your panties in a bunch, this alliance "battle" really isn't changing anything. I'm not going to shift our foreign policy because of it. However, Plato is forcing everyone in the alliance to MPP. So we will have MPP with Spain, Poland, Brazil, and Hungary.

A copy of the list from eRepublik blog

Had I not sent a ticket and email to the eRepublik administrators this morning, we would had been forced to MPP everyone in Fraternal Union of Countries and Kingdoms - Unofficial, that of which would had included Slovakia and the United Kingdom.

I am very disappointed in the international community's lack of cooperation in the Fraternal Union of Countries and Kingdoms - Unofficial project, but it became clear that Eden/ONE/FOE/ wanted to take the competition seriously, and unfortunately I was in no condition to voice my input last night (which was the deadline).

Prior to the presidency, I had no intention of keeping peace with Spain. I'm sure Spain's government was very skeptical of me as well. But like any good statesman, I didn't burn the bridge. I wanted to feel them out first, and I got a positive response. So I kept the NAP, continued the MPP, and tried to work something out for Portugal. Portugal's CP was intent on creating stability on the Iberian Peninsula, his congress however, refused the treaty of Porto (which in my opinion was fair---and I even offered to let them annex some regions in Mexico if it passed).

So anyways, thats how things went down. I'm not exactly thrilled about being forced with a MPP with Hungary, but I don't care. If you want to be friends with Hungary, go for it, if you want to be friends with Romania, go for it. But these are the cards we were dealt with. Refuse MPP with them next month if you're so upset. You, the people, push and fight, I just set-up the scenario for you.

On the first day of the presidency, actually, even hours before assuming office, I negotiated the end of the Canam War. Jacobi and I were very interested in peace and resuming relations. So we did that, MPPed, and USA & Canada became butt buddies. Now Canada is facing invasion by Poland. Maybe we won't be there to defend them in direct war, but we can still liberate them, if you want to. I know many of you are still weary after the CANAM War. So we will see what happens when time comes.

Also go make more America by colonizing Mexico.

I don't play alliances, I play for America, and I play for fun, quite simple. This alliance is not set in stone. We can break the MPP with Hungary if we want to, but would lose the Spanish MPP. Its not the end of the world, really, and is easy to alter.

And never, ever ever forget.

You are not a beautiful and unique snowflake.

This is your life, and it's ending one minute at a time.
