Kitty here! As I'm sure a good portion of you well know - Miss eRepublik ongoings have been happening. Something I was rather excited about as I had decided to be a candidate. Now normally I'm not big on the whole 'beauty pageant' ideal. Outer beauty is nice, but inner beauty is far superior. BUT! Since this was for the community as a whole, and for fun for all.. I was all for it. 2nd edition of Miss eRepublik
I was originally asked if myself or any woman I knew would be interested - I said not me. After a bit of time I decided.. ok why not? I asked other women if they were interested - all declined, but I know a few others did agree to join in. Fun right? I checked the rules. Ok - no biggie. Some time passed, but I knew we had plenty of time. Because the article CLEARY stated the dates.
Then guess what? YEP! This. Miss eRepublik eUSA National Selection Seriously? The well known PTO'ers are now the proper channels for eUS? Yea.. I don't think so. So the women that HAD agreed to participate said, NO! We are fighting against them for the security of our enation. Why in the world would we just forget that and jump on in with them? Many reasons were given, but let's be honest. We all know when it's a bunch of BS. Say whatever you want to make yourself look good to the other nations. The facts are facts and to assume that so many leaders can not open there eyes the mere slit that is required to see through the utter *censored* offered the eUS women is beyond absurd.
Few more days pass. Miss eRepublik eUSA Winner Annuciation Oh look! She won! UNCONTESTED! Well yea - nobody would work with the PTO'rs. Doesn't really take rocket science to figure that one out now does it? You can see where I've commented a few places. All I basically was told is.. WAA WAA WAA AFA/SHOE is handling this. So either hook up with us or gtfo. Yes that is strong paraphrasing, but it is what it is.
To clarify the eUS Vice President WAS handling things. As stated in his article [VP] Desperation in the Air and the Faults of the Miss eRep Competition . You can also see screenshots of the conversation he had with the man running the contest. BUT just in case you can’t make them out I have them for you. Honestly nothing more to say about this. This part is clear as can be.
Now - Do I care that I didn't win? No. I don't really. I care that other nations are considering the American PTO'ers as the official channels and not the eUS government.
Hannibal's newspaper is official? Don't think so. Yes yes... whine about how you hadn't seen an article yet. Deadline wasn't met. So I guess what you said didn't really matter.
Yea.. was not near deadline. THEN to add insult to injury!
I could of won - sure. STILL NOT THE POINT.
Point is this. By allowing the PTO’ers of our nation equal footing as our egovernment you are legitimizing them. Why would you do that? You can’t pretend lack of knowledge. Even if you didn’t in the beginning I am sure your inbox has enough messages for you to be sure. Not to mention comments on articles. Does that mean you play favorites? You cater to some that you feel a closer connection with, or do you accept money to look the other way? Because you were in no shape, form or fashion without knowledge of the situation. You just didn’t care.
I'm sharing this with everyone I know. In every country I know. I feel others have the right to know how a woman who HAD applied in the beginning feels about the treatment given by the contest. Because - Let's be honest once again. If you'll do it to us... You'll do it to them.

"e" not RL miss US, technically everyone who has citizenship in eUS is an eAmerican therefore she's eligible. Same goes for IRL, if you have citizenship to a particular country lets say Australia then you are an Australian

My first impression was that it was all a sexist trick to exploit the ladies - but if they wanted to be in it, fine. Why let the internal enemy be recognised as the official Americans?
It was for fun.. so sure why not? Fun is great! But... you see how it turned out.
It's sad that because of how this was handled, American women who wanted to take part could not.
Thank you for writing this Mazzy and I greatly respect you and all those who originally wanted to take part that did not because of the PTO group involved.

Explain to me the special advertising gif I saw lower left of my screen if it was player run "entirely"? Not sassy, legit question. Why do I even KNOW about this bullshit contest? Cause I couldn't avoid knowing, there was an ad on my home screen. Admin in there somewhere I think?? Legit question.
And what would you have them do? Ban the accounts involved? Pull articles that don't violate any rules?

You misunderstood me Pfeiff. Idc one way or the other about this contest or how it turned out. You (above) say, "an entirely player run event". No, it wasn't. The Admins gave it special advertising and prominence via that ad (that I ignored anyway).
I'd have them do nothing since it was the silliest thing I've seen them do since allowing your gay Boy Scout article. They just do silly things. They willy-nilly get involved when it suits them, then, as in the Gnil Congress screw up, ignore resolutions when they most certainly SHOULD get involved. They definitely don't do things with much consistency or foundation.
No way I'd have any reason to have any expectations at all with regards to this thing either. Flip a coin as to how they do anything, imo. Neither here nor there, just how it is.

They have promoted player events before (a lot more when they used the Insider), but they don't take them over when they give them a little publicity.
Which is weird and irresponsible imo. Be like the RL Judicial promoting something THEY have no control of nor intent to police. They threw their tacit approval behind the contest by giving it special recognition and advertising but feign lack of responsibility for it when it goes south.
Again, the specific incident is not a personal concern at all. But the Admin's quasi involvement is indeed concerning. Imo, it's the Admin involvement that made this a fiasco, not the gamers handling of his own silly (seriously silly) contest.
The Admins are playing, rather than Administering. And the Admins don't play by the same rules as the rest of us.
So I'll call BS any time I see them PLAYING rather than Administering.
But I've no doubt no one else cares about the Admin's willy-nilly involvement so meh. Plus, ofc, what are ya gonna do. Nadda.
Your comparison to a 'Judicial Branch' is misguided. Admin sets the rules, as well as interprets them. They are the entire government, meaning that your only recourse is to walk away. In this case, they gave a player generated idea some coverage, as they have before, and a group wasn't happy with how it went...which is the case with everything ever.
You just mind because it affected people in your circle. The entire event is dumb, why anyone is upset about it boggles my mind.

I could care less about the contest but I am very annoyed by Admin failure to respond. This sham was, after all, advertised on a banner on my home page.
Let's see here... Admin puts announcement by way of citizen's article on homepage for a week. (Nice for that citizens MM too I bet.) I don't look at FB but I bet they are advertising the shit outta this for game publicity. (Stockholders love shit like this.) So effectually this is at least a sanctioned event.
Now look at how Ajay continually comes back. He cannot be permabanned. He says and does things here that would be breaking ToS for anyone else. Admin refuses to block him after proof that he was cyber stalking in game.
So when you put these together with the fact that AFA Shoe Peeps hijacked this Miss eRepublik goat ropin' we should not be surprised. It's becoming more and more evident that someone has friends or at the very least the powers that be have ill will towards some original residents of eCountries. I'm not prepared to make direct accusations, mostly because I don't care about this type of shit anymore. Just pointing out the facts so that someone who does give a rats ass may snoop around and discover some truth in what I'm suggesting.

Being new here I can't speak with any real knowledge, but it does seem that Admin has favorites. Seems the ones who spend the most real world cash get to say and do anything they want.
