The Federalist Press [day 2235]

Day 2,235, 14:52 Published in USA USA by Trekker Tlumac

Well hello there! Seems like we haven’t spoken since last year! Oh, wait, we haven’t.

Happy News Years everyone! May this year bring to you better times than any year that has passed. In case you had not guessed. It is I, Trekker Tlumac. Welcome Feds and friends. It is a new week and a new year, let us try to make it a new age as well.

State of the Fed.

Actually a little bit to report here this week.

1) Country President Elections are coming up in a few days. Currently the Fed Party just finished up a CP Primary on the forum to see who the Fed Party will officially endorse. There were two people on the ballot seeking a Fed endorsement, Konoha no Kiiroi Senko  and WildOwl. WildOwl won the Fed endorsement.
Konoha no Kiiroi Senko has since decided to step down from his CP run and is supporting Wild Owl's run.

Wild Owl has put out a amount of literature about his run and people are advised to read up on that literature. The following links will help with that.

2) The Feds had a good turn out last week for voting on congress. It enabled us to send 15 members to congress. They are as follows: Tyler Bubblar, AlexJ1890, Mourning Star, Molly Emma, arith seneviratne, crashthompson, IndexInfinity, logamac, Raidoh, Leothechosen, dk3dknight, stephen s, kody5, Konoha no Kiiroi Senko. We also sent a 6th party member, AexiI Kong, to Congress under the Fed banner.

It is a diverse bunch of well-seasoned congress critters and young blood; they number to a combined service of nearly 90 terms. This is includes a freshman congressman and several going to congress for only the second time.

3) All of us at the Fed Leadership would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year

State of the Country

1) The gold bonuses last week have continued to wreak havoc on supply prices, especially weapons. In the past few days Q7 tank prices have sky-rocketed from previous prices in the neighborhood of 12-15 CC to over 26 CC.

This inflation is a symptom belonging to the cost of over-tanking. This is caused by a number of factors.

The on-going double energy bonus has some effect. But that would only account for some of the over-tanking.

Another huge factor is the ability of players to essentially fight for free once they get past 5K prestige points in a week. This happens because the rewards allow for a perpetual state of clicking for free energy. At 5K and for K on prestige after that is 76 EBs. That allows for 760 free prestige points. Add in the snowman paradox (snowmen popup every 25ish kills and give 0.5 EBs worth of energy) and the result is an extended period of nonstop fighting.

This would not be as big a deal as it is to the average player, being as with double energy all week, not missing a single moment of it, and only using it to fight: people would only get 3360 prestige points. Now people do other things with energy and often miss at least a few hours of usage a week. So really that number is closer to 2800 energy used a week, probably less. That number is not nearly high enough, even with snowmen accounted for, for the average citizen to hit the 5K threshold. So it has only been the overly active players that have been hitting high numbers, the “pay to play” crowd and what not. But a general level of more activity has been present since the introduction of weekly leaderboards and double energy, so prices have been higher as of late.

Where it really gets damming is from the bonuses that have run the last week for buying gold. Players could buy 50% more gold and if they bought gold for someone else they would get 50% bonus of what they bought for that person. This led to a lot of Gold Present Swapping. So now there are incredibly active fighters with massive amounts of gold, it stands to reason they would need a lot of tanks. This of course leads to basic supply and demand. Demand for tanks is outrageously high, so the prices will match it. This will continue as long as the perpetual fighting machine continues and people have gold to throw at tanks.

It was a perfect storm of all the factors being in the right place at the right time.

The good news being that this is likely the last week of the snowmen. The treats are set to expire next week, so it is reasonable to guess that there will be no more snowmen next week. This of course is subject to the whim of Plato. Such whims are often unfathomable. Prices will likely stay elevated for a while anyways, until the gold bought during the gold rush starts to deplete itself.

2) As stated earlier in State of the Fed, the CP Elections are a couple days away.  Make sure you get out and vote on the 5th.

3) The past week has brought up only two MPPs to report. One with Bulgaria and one with Germany.

State of my gold

Well, as started last week, I am giving out some gold in the comments section. This week being as it is a new year and many people make resolutions on the changing of the year, vote the article up and comment about a resolution you have made for 2014. Or vote and comment on the content of the article you have just read. Once the article has been out for four days I will read through the comments and tally up the number of original posters (commenting more than once does not gain extra entries) and use random.org to generate a random number to decide who gets my gold. I will give away 1 gold per every 10 original commenters (capped at 5 gold). So if there are 10 commenters or less, I will give someone 1 gold. And if there are 20 commenters I will give out 2 gold to the winner.

Subscriptions are not required, but greatly appreciated. The contest is open to anyone who follows the rules, regardless of who they are.

Well, that being said, have a great week. And may this year be good.
