The contest was very tight.
The top three pictures voted are:

1. Cape Town at night! - 23 vote points
8. Big Hole - 22 vote points
11. Elephant and the tree - 20 vote points

The winner is The Patriot of EU so the 1000 prize goes to him.
I will also like to send some prize to the second and third places: MoHag and Releasethe Krakken

you probably needed to specify a category. Some pics are scenery, while others are of animals. Then you have the everyday incidents at no 6. You cannot really compare the lot. Unless the voting has a neutral approach eg. voting for the most colorful picture. Also as a citizen, I can tell you that none of the above illustrates the main thing that resembles South Africa. The country is know for its crime, corruption, genocidal murders of farmers etc.

It is already hard to organize this contest. Making it more complicate will kill it instantly. I had several countries were nobody sent me pictures, so there was no contest.
