Join the new world

This week we will all be voting for our regional representatives and I write this to announce my congressional candidature for East Midlands as a PCP member.


My commitment to the UK has been impeccable and it will continue to be so while I work for you. My obligations as I see them are firstly to you, but also the UK as a whole and I shall fight for what I feel is right at every turn. Although relatively new to the eRepublik I have over the past three weeks learnt a considerable amount on the workings of the New World and I feel this is the next and most important step I should take.


What I’ve done so far…

I have written a number of articles for different papers concerning increasing the activity among the citizens of the eUK, FD’s election, and on behalf of TfL articles on the importance for citizens to leave London. More recently I have established my own paper and written some articles on behalf of the PCP promoting the party and their work. I am also currently working as apprentice at the Ministry of Migration and Support.


The heart of the UK occurs in the forums. Understanding this I have been very active on the forums and in-game and I will continue to be so on your behalf, the citizens of the East Midlands.


East Midlands – one of the most important functions for an older citizen is to communicate with newer citizens to explain to them what they can be doing, how they can contribute to the UK and to support them with questions and finances if necessary.

I am always willing to help new members to eRep and anyone else who has any questions. This I have already been doing and will continue to do during, if elected, my seat in the East Midlands.

The East Midlands forum is one of the most active there is, this is wholly due to the diligence of previous and current congress members working hard for East Midlands and I will be eager to join them in this work. My congress allowance shall be going towards more projects and competitions organised for the people of East Midlands both in increasing activity and bringing people together.

I will also be eager to join in with and continue the work in the development of the East Midlands Regional Assembly. The Assembly, created by SKQ62 and Mitty Woo is for people to apply to work for and help in improving the region, to get more of us active and working together.


Some views…

Economy - the importance of a strong economy can not be overstated. Creating one, however, is not so easy. It requires a combination of fair pay for workers, reasonable and non-prohibitive costs to consumers, profits for companies and fluid trade with our neighbours. To this end I believe in partial protection of our own markets and companies against market floods while maintaining a competitive economy. I do not believe it is the role of government to maintain UK companies at the expense of consumers and the treasury. Companies should be able to govern themselves, and I fully support company-government cooperation, but intervention is necessary to stop any unfair practices exercised by the few.


International – good relation with our neighbours, friends and allies is vital both for our healthy economy but also for our own safety. ESA is something I have great hope in. However, it is still somewhat in its inception and I await eagerly, with an open mind, for what ESA can do for both Europe and the UK. I do remain open to the possibility to the dangers of ESA and if it becomes clear that it is not to the benefit of East Midlands or UK as a whole, I would not be able to support it. War is critical to both the enjoyment of eRepublik and the wealth of nations. However, I believe in the freedom of all nations to be able to function independently and control their own sovereignty. A balance between these two must be maintained.
