After another nail biting election, I am pleased to present to you your next congress! For starters, I would like to thank the people of Nova Scotia for a second term and the EPIC party for their endorsement and aid.

There is much to discuss here as I have a rundown of all the stats from yesterdays election, and there is much to discuss. But lets look at the winners first.

For those of us who like charts, you are in for a treat as I have pulled up a few here (with the help of maester Sperry because I couldn't quite get the charts to look right at first). First lets take a look at your congress forecast:


Once again, we see that EPIC is a strong contender, though it has lost some ground since last month, while the Military Dictatorship Party has made some serious headway. The Fellowship of the Ring has also grown a little, no longer little hobbits, they are approaching dwarf size! (all good humour intended!) The CPF also tried to raise it's head, but only raised 3 seats. And as for Norsefire, only Rolo was truly running with the wolfpac, picking up a seat, though there was a good showing by Wally as he picked up a wildcard seat as well!

So there is your congress folks. There were many great people running which sadly did not make it, but you the people voted and here we are! But wait! What of the other numbers? Votes cast and all that jazz? Who came out to vote? Well gather round children and lets take a look!

Lets start with sheer numbers,



EPIC clearly received the lions share, but given its party size, that is not surprising, otherwise, the other parties received votes fairly relative to the size of their parties. Although it is a shame that we can't really tell exactly how many from each party came out, we can at least gauge party support by comparing the numbers of votes received verses party members.



As you can see here some parties managed to garner more support from outside their party or possibly even swaying votes from other parties. However it is impossible to tell where exactly the extra support came from it is nice to think that those not politically affiliated are taking a role in the elections.

Which brings me to my next point, while election time is always riveting for those of us involved, we need to step back and look at the wider picture. The combined membership of these parties only makes up 34% of the population. Sadly I'm not throwing up a chart for that one, but I find it a rather sad statistic. What is also sad is that I do not have past numbers on hand to compare, but I think we can do better than 34%.

Again congrats to everyone! I hope that those of you whose first election this was, that it won't be your last!

There shall be one tomorrow as soon as I can put it together, though to be honest, it has been a slow week with most of congress being preoccupied with the election, the only real activity was based on some embargoes and some alliances.
