Resource Wars II - Day 3113 [1730] - Getting our rocks on?

Day 3,113, 17:44 Published in USA Canada by Ilene Dover

There's just over a week to run in this tournament now. Can you feel the relief of the battle commanders? Taste the desperation of CPs anxious not to leave a legacy of crap resources? What is there left to fight over? Is it just scraps, or are there still some jewels?

There are just over 7 days left to run. Nkt long now…

1. Very common resources are very unpopular. The FishPile sits at twenty two fish (pew, love that smell!), and has been joined by four sand, eleven iron and seven fruits.

2. Three quarters of the Unobtanium (rea😛 Neodymium) has been placed. The first went to Pakistan, with the second going to Poland. Japan took the third, in the delightfully named Kinki region. There is just the one Neodymium left! Expect fierce competition for this one, and interference from rivals who can’t claim it themselves.

3. Twelve (from seventeen) rubber resources have been released. These have gone to South America (Peru, Argentina and Brazil), Europe (Poland, Spain, Portugal and Russia), the Middle East (Saudi Arabia and Iran), Asia (The Philippines and Thailand) and Eurasia (Georgia). That leaves just five rubbers to stretch over the last week.

4. Twenty (from twenty four) deer resources have been released. Europe (Portugal, Russia, Germany, Spain, Croatia, Estonia and Ireland), North America (USA [twice!], Cuba and Canada), Asia (China, Australia and Japan), the eastern Mediterranean area (Egypt and Turkey), the Middle East (Iran and UAE), and South America (Argentina, Bolivia) have claimed these. I'll save you the mental maths - there are four deer left - less than the number of rubbers.

5. Seven (from seven) granite resources have been claimed, going to Eurasia (Russia and Georgia), North America (USA [twice!] and Canada), Europe (Spain) and Asia (Australia). Thats right folks, granite is rollin’ out the door.

6. Granite (very rare housing) and Cobalt (rare new) are both sold out. 100% allocated. Gone. However you want to phrase it, don't expect to see any more of these in the pool.

7. Of the remaining resources that are available Limestone, Neodymium and Titanium (1 left each) and Magnesium (2 left) are the hardest to come by.

8. Unloved and unclaimed resources at the end of the tournament are lost forever. Yes, you heard that right. There will be no freebie distribution of the resource pool at the end. If you happen to be a CP and will settle for Iron/Fruits/Fish/Sand then act now.

How is the eUSA doing? Well enough, with two of the hardest resources left to claim before we have a full set of bonuses. Unobtanium and Rubber remain unobtained… We have one last chance at Unobtanium. Five chances left for Rubber. If Canada and Cuba can both find a rubber when it counts, we need to be able to.

Food

Food is our best supplied industry, which hasn't changed for awhile. We have all five of the five resources (Deer, Grains, Cattle, Fruits and Fish) for an overall national bonus of 100%. Our maximum region bonus is 90% in both Nebraska and the District of Columbia. It won’t get any better than that, bonus wise! Besides, nobody else can boast of two full bonus food regions.

We have also done part of our share of Fish shovelling, so far taking three of the unloved leftovers. Expect more to appear by the end of the week.

Weapons

We’ve taken the unrestricted resources of Aluminium, Iron and Oil along with Saltpetre. That gives us a national bonus of 70% and a maximum region bonus of 60%in Kentucky.

We are still left with Rubber to win. Nobody wants to be caught short without a Rubber.

Housing

We have a full house of housing resources! What does that mean? It means our Housing industry now has a national bonus of 100% from having five of five resources (granite, limestone, clay, wood and sand). Adding a second Wood in Washington has our housing regional bonus tapping out at 90%. Good job!

Showing that even government stooges have a sense of humour, Texas has been bequeathed Sand, a resource as precious and beautiful as it is common and useless.

We also took the last Granite resource for Florida. I’m not sure why, other than tbe old axiomof “if a little is good, more must be better!”

New industry

We took two of the last three Cobalt resources. That gives us a 70% national bonus and a maximum regional bonus of 60% in Utah.

The last Unobtanium is out there...

Are you unhappy with how things are progressing? The potential for change is in your hands!

Listen to the DoD shouts and read their newspaper. Follow your MU orders - always always check before hitting. Sometimes we want to be losing battles. Don’t be the idiot TP and BH chaser. More importantly, go here if you care enough to face IRC.
