Population Statistics 21st July. Suddenly Babybooms.

Day 2,070, 07:20 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Kevy Kev Kev Junior shabado

Hello eRepublik. I’m back for another edition of population statistics. In today’s article we see a drastic change in the figures with a fair few countries appearing to gain citizens in the last two weeks. After viewing the stats I’m a bit skeptical considering the massive turnaround in the space of two weeks after constant losses in the thousands for months, but maybe the increases have appeared from nice things instead of multi booms.

I also wrote a small article recently trying to look into the population of the UK. It was only a small article experiment and I have learnt a lot for future publications..AKA sorry for it being fairly terrible lacking stats and I will try to fix this next time. You can read it here if you desire.

For new readers of my article

I attempt to gather latest figures on the population. Every two weeks I compare the last set of data with the newest set and identify the best and worst performers.

If someone wants to use the images or just translate this whole article then you have my permission…however please put a link to track back to this original article.

Votes and Comments are always welcome. Subscribe if you’re new here! If you want to be really awesome you should shout this article out. It helps the paper grow and it indicates interest in the series. (Which motivates me to put the effort in to publish them every now and then 😛)

If you have any requests on particular stats that you would like me to look into (as in focussing on particular countries, alliances etc) then tell me in the comment section and I will try to look into it!

If you vote AND comment you get entered into a prize draw (details below)

These graphs show the data in the table above in a format easier for the eyes.

From the stats this time we can see that Chile did very well. An increase of almost 5000 citizens in two weeks is no joke. This led to a 65% growth which is incredible for a top 10 country, moving them into 4th place (an increase of 5 spots). Chile has had massive baby booms before so I do not have any suspicions of foul play here. I'm sure that advertisements have been used in South America anyway because of the gains seen in the majority of the bigger South American eCountries.

Notable mentions this week are Brazil and USA. Brazil continue to dominate the rankings and have gained an additional 3000 citizens this week. There have been claims of multis here but I doubt that all 3000 gained are multis and they have benefited from the same advertising campaign likely used in Chile. USA has also had a good two weeks despite being stuck behind TWO. They gained 1183 citizens which is a 15% increase. Perhaps despite being heavily outnumbered this war has helped sparked interest for players again. South Korea also did very well increasing population by 134%! Must be another advertising attempt.

The Loser this week is unfortunately Bolivia who unlike their South American neighbours has had a rough two weeks with a loss of 477 citizens. This has moved them down to 37 places and resulted in a contraction of 27.7% which is the highest of any country this week by far. Hopefully this is only a small blip for a very small country.

Notable mentions for this time are Ukraine and Portugal who both suffered losses this week. Ukraine dropped one place, losing 489 citizens and having a contraction of 8.5% which is fairly big for a top 20 country. Portugal who are a bit smaller than Ukraine also lost 400 citizens, moving down two places to 24th.

- The gap between the top two is over 5000!

- Hungary gained 0 citizens this week overall and because of this stability moved up 1 place. Congrats!

- The bottom 4 all gained citizens this time. Norway, who is 5th bottom better watch out.

- South Korea moved up 14 places making it the highest mover this week. Even more impressive is the fact that it has more than doubled citizenship in the last two weeks.

- Pakistan moved down the most, 6 places down to 57. They only lost 7 citizens though. Harsh!

- eRepublik overall gained 11018 citizens, a 5.28% growth. As I said in the introduction this is fairly strange considering the state of the figures a few weeks ago. Perhaps some of it is down to advertising campaigns but I also suspect that multis can come into play.

Just some quick statistics on the top 5 countries in terms of population and growth changes.

Congrats to Blue Bird for winning the last contest. Please contact me for your prize. I used a random number generator to get the result.
