Importing: The Rise or Fall of Future Jobs?

Importing. The USA is one of eRepublik's leaders in importing foriegn goods. Is this is a good thing, or a bad thing? First let's look at the basics.

The USA has one of the, or is, the lowest importing tax in eRepublik. This low tax tends to have companies import either goods or materials from foriegn countries. This, thus because of the company owners saving money, can then sell their goods for less.

Unfortunately, since these jobs are in other countries, wages in the USA are either lowered to meet foriegn wages, or eliminated all together, making thousands of eAmericans unemployed.

Now, one of the rediculous aspect of this controversy is this: according to July 10th, 2009 economic statistics & research, the way that congress has decided to fix this problem is to offer up voting to RAISE income taxes (not imPORT taxes) by 10%!

The lowering of import taxes was pioneered in the USA, and the rest of the eWorld never followed suit, for good reason. Lowering import taxes tempts companys to heavily outsource and lose eAmerican jobs. this current income tax addition will just intensify the amount of jobs lost, as it is usually cheaper to pay a foriegn worker than an eAmerican worker.

So talk to your congressman today, and talk to them on how to raise income tax to help bring back eAmerican jobs, and finally stabilize the constantly changing economy. You'd be suprised by how congressmen will tell you the honest truth and thier opinion.

Congressman Bill Forder Writes:

"Exactly I am a senator [and] my goal is to create more buisness in America by raising import taxes, the problem is a lot of my fellow senators dont want to do that."

Congressman Tyler Jenkins Writes:

"eAmerica's wages have fallen since I joined the game. One major contributor to this was the fact that Congress somehow thought it would be a good idea that import taxes be dropped, while no other countries followed suit. This caused more products to flood the market, thus causing domestic companies to drop prices just to compete with these foreign companies, which in turn forced domestic businesses to lower wages just to stay in the black.

Want more money? Petition Congress to do the right thing, take care of their citizens first, and raise import taxes to a level where domestic companies can make the profits in the eUSA, rather than foreign companies with foreign employees. "
