Join the new world

In order to commence our work on representing Serbia internationally, we have decided to take part in the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships 2015 WILC2015 that will take place in Buffalo, NY and Syracuse, NY in September 2015. Host of this event will be the Iroquois Confederation. This is a unique opportunity to play the sport that we love at the very place where it all started from and where it is played for centuries, being an indivisible part of Native American culture, tradition and customs.

In our endeavour to represent Serbia in this major international Lacrosse event, we are expecting several players based in Canada (some of them playing in the NLL professional North-American league) that have Serbian roots to join us and play for the National Team of Serbia. We will reveal more information about this at a later point.

We turn to you for help, so that all of this can be organized and that our National Team can, for the first time in history, represent our country and take a place among 20 national teams which will participate in this event, playing against the best lacrosse players in the world. We will give back to you the best way we can – by promoting you and your business on social networks, domestic and foreign tournaments, organizing team-building activities related to lacrosse for your company and employees and even having your company’s logo represented on our jerseys. Every bit of help is welcome, no matter how small or irrelevant you might think it is. Of course, not only companies can help – each and every one of you has the power to help us in our endeavour, by contributing to our cause and even by simply sharing the information about it (the link to our Go fund campaign). Soon we will post the number of the official bank account of SLF through which we will also accept donations for WILC2015. We are planning to return the favour in other ways as well – by getting involved with various humanitarian actions and giving back to the society that we ask for support through acts of humanity.

We hope that you will recognize the importance of Lacrosse for young people in Serbia, as a sport which develops high physical and intellectual capabilities, while also teaching respect and teamwork. This competition is the next big step which we will make with your help and in doing so promote this sport in Serbia and motivate founding and development of many new domestic Lacrosse clubs.
