Glove's Challenge
GloveisLove
Ladies and gentleman,
I don't play anymore.
But I like to check here every once in a while when I'm not busy studying just to say hello.
But over the course of these years, I've noticed things. I noticed the fragmented styles of approaching the game, how people carry themselves, the keys to success, how to dynamically change the game and make history, and how to simply have fun.
I want you to think. This article is different than any other you'll read, because I am not imposing anything on you. I am not trying to convince you of anything nor aiming for any goal. The only goal I have is to open your mind, to understand your strengths and flaws, and to understand to what extent this eWorld has an impact on your persona.
It has had an effect. Whether it be your understanding or lack thereof of foreigners or simply improving your geography. Are you better off now having played the game than before you discovered it? Why?
Continue reading if you're up to the challenge.
You had players like Ligtreb who would never hurt a fly. Who came off as the kindest fellow around, and what did he accomplish? Nothing. Just a collection of medals and being known as Mr. Nice Guy. You have players like Emerick that parade in their past glory and achievement until you make sure you never forget their name and who all knows by name, that of who you loathe or adore. You have players like Henry Arundel who quietly operate the meta-world. You had players like St Krems where diplomacy and the pen was their greatest tool, not credit cards and Rompers. You had Max McFarland 2s where charity and propaganda bought influence, until influence and mis-political calculations brought the end of them. You have your Eugene Harlots, who quit because of the lack of willingness to play a different game. You have your Nanotiks who don't shy at the opportunity to point out humor in things. You have your Bia Pandora's and Dumb Emmas who remain to slay bigots and look sexy. And you have your rainysundays, who give that motherly love you much adore.
What say you? What is your story? How has this game changed you? What have you done in the time you've been playing? If you disappeared today, do you think you'll be remembered? What motivates you to take the extra step, on participating on the forums, irc, and logging in every-day?
Glove's Challenge
So I have a challenge for you. I am offering 10 gold to the person who writes the best response to this article.
The topic for this challenge is: Who or what had the most impact on you from this game? This can be an event, a person, an idea, or something more.
This impact does not need to be limited to just your eRepublik career, because as many of you know, this game transcends the game-world into real-life quite frankly. For some of you, this is very scary, and has even proved to be a problem for some, but it is a very real factor that many of us let go unnoticed. The friendships here sometimes rival those of real-ones. Weird, huh? If you suddenly stopped logging in one day, do you think you would miss these friends, or are they just players to you?

Well Glove, you had the best impact on me. You made me strive to do better, apply myself even more. Your friendship has made me a better person and for that I shall never forget.
Don't give me your money bro.

Good media, good question. Hope you share some answers.
Excellent little contest you have going here. Tracking this for sure.
A school teacher says to her class, "Who can use the word 'Definitely' in a sentence?" First a little girl says "The sky's definitely blue." Teacher says, "Sorry, Amy- the sky can be orange." A second little boy says, "Trees are definitely green." "Sorry, but in the autumn, the trees are brown." Little Johnny in the back of the class stands up and asks "Does a fart have lumps?" Horrified, the teacher says "Johnny! Of course not!!!" "OK. Then I DEFINITELY $hit my pants!"
Best response, ever.

Taught me that once a business has your money they don't care about you anymore
I think Hitler is my model for this game. Now give me 10G.
Definitely the new friends I've gotten through this game. Also the unity of the two MUs I've been in has alone kept me playing. Without those two I would have left a long time ago.
Good challenge Glove. If I get time, I might write an article about this exact thing...

Personally, I think that the country of Ireland has had the biggest impact on me. Like me, they are small compared to others, but they have shown they have the balls to get it done. Like me, they are viewed as weak on the global scale, but they have shown they can make a difference when they want to. Ireland also has some of the nicest people and complete asshats, as I am sure every country does. But what makes Ireland so different from the other countries? Stupid character limit.
Irish people are so closely knit that you can't help making strong, even best friends. What you said about the friends I've made here is true. I still wonder about that one friend who used to play. What happened to him?
And a side/kinda relevant note - I live in America, and one day my parents were looking at the paper, and they pointed out the headline 'Irish Prime Minister visits area' . My immediate reaction was to say that Ireland's leader was called the Taioseach, not Prime Minister.

Firstly...
"I want you to think."
ZAP! pop... clunk, clunk... PHFFFFT!
I guess I know what I'm doing tonight, damn you.
Fiona used to do this to me. Make me write shit because she would have some contest and present it as a challenge. You suck. 😃😃
".You have your Bia Pandora's and Dumb Emmas who remain to slay bigots and look sexy. And you have your rainysundays, who give that motherly love you much adore."
^ word. I'll try writing something tonight once I feel more... creative. But yea, very interesting essay prompt. Will definitely have to look through my nearly 4 years of erep history to pull out some key people/events/ideas
btw, you totally left out an insulting remark about AJay... or PTH... or General Cartman Lee... or whatever they call it nowadays
I swear that the banning and name changing is the only consistent thing that has changed with the game
Myself.
Short response, but just think about it.
MM2 is the reason I am still here and the reason I continue to write...he supplied the 2 gold for newspaper when I was a real newb...even though I have been perma banned (instead of a temp ban like some citizens) twice I continue to be a thorn in the side of 'Pfeifferist' from Emerick to our current President Henry Arundel...both of whom would stoop to any depth to win a game you can't win.
It taught me that even in a game some citizens will do anything to retain power....

Nuff said... 10 gold please???
Buck Rogers.
When I was a new player he donated 100g to me as part of a charitable giving program which I used to purchase gifts (if you remember those things) for players who messed up their wellness. Giving stuff away has always been an important part of the reason I play. Over 2,500,000 CC (5.5k gold) to the Legion Co-op alone. If you give me the money, I will give it away.
FIST
Epic article!
The Federalist Party. I wrote a whole article about it.

I don't like essay questions.
Who or what had the most impact on you from this game?
When Marius "Scott" Coroleone died irl. It helped me realize the realities beyond the game, the connections with people beyond the characters that I am grateful to have.
Je me souviens.
the impact i had on this game: creepy people that dont know the limit between a character and a person in real life
Glove. the game isn't fun. It never has been. How is clicking a "fight button" fun? We play because its a distraction.
I'm gonna say the good Doctor Of Souls.
I may not know him as long as other players have known him, but he taught me something about giving, about how even though he played this game and leveled himself up and brought himself higher, he never stopped running the MoH to help newer players. He spread his influence around but letting people donate to his program, bringing out the goodness in their hearts, showing them they can make a difference, even in this game....
...To people we may never meet or know in real life, and he showed us that it didn't matter what walks of life you were from, only that we would help you if you asked for it.
I truly believe he is one of the most selfless people in the game, and I aspire to be more like him.
If I get the gold, it will go to the MoH, or you could directly give it to him yourself, whatever floats your boat.
Josh Frost. Best POTUS ever
The pivotal moment of my eLife was making it onto Mercurius100's highly selective friend list.
Alfred Ball, It's nice to collaborate to make constructive things, but It's only when you band together to destroy self-righteous pig countries that you can truly call yourselves bros.
Do things as you think they should be done. No fucks given. Play on principal.
Montilio was the player at the root. He took me up into his weapon-company as companion when I was a newbie. Together with Raidoh another companion I learned to use Google-Docs for administrating the weapon company. This was the initial spark to dive into webdevelopment. At first I used this new skills for developing small military erep-Tools, but later it extended to a work-related impact on RL. I'm using and improving the new webdevelopment skills every day in RL.
The eNations of eRep are reflections of their RL-nations. Observing the eNation you learn something about the heart of the RL-Nation.
I am not into article ? x D tc,tc,tc...
I gave gold to all of my greatest benefactors in this game glove, so consider yourself one of them!
Never mind the challenge, the paragraph after "continue reading" was among the most interesting I've read in an eRep paper.
running for CP again?

Words that Jangle in your Head
This game has made me waste my free time and for what. I've been playing for four years. FOUR FUCKING YEARS. THANK GOD I AT LEAST QUIT SPENDING MONEY ON THIS TURD. I cant seem to not log in anymore though, I have no idea why, I guess its habit.
Four years of daily play and I have finally exhausted all my money, can't afford training for much longer, can't afford weapons, so I guess i may finally be able to let it go when I slide further and further behind in strength and rank.
Love, you had a LAST chance but as usual, you screwed up!!!
Your FAIL was more than EPIC!!!
So plz, GTFO loser!!!
