eNation National Survey: The Most Influential eAmericans
Ananias
Recently, I have written several articles about progress and leadership, I thought it may be interesting and beneficial for eUS citizens to be provided the opportunity to respond to the question: Who do you consider the 5 most influential citizens of the eUnited States if America?
With the help of google spreadsheets, I have developed a survey that I invite you to take which allows for every eUS citizen to weigh in on there perspective. Leadership is the ability to influence others toward the achievement of goals, influence can be positive or negative, but is still the deciding factor in a players ability to persuade others of the value of their perspective.

Most Influential eAmericans Survey
The survey provides the opportunity to select five current eAmerican citizens that you feel are influential and results will remain completely anonymous (though tracked to prevent duplication). The survey also provides the opportunity to write a short rationalization for each of your choices which will, if they are appropriate and if they maintain the anonymity of the survey respondent, will be published with the rank order of the top 50 selections.
Survey Guidelines:
1) You may not select yourself as any of the five most influential.
2) Organizations may not participate in the survey, individual players only.
3) Only eUS citizens may participate unless you are a member of the eUS military deployed overseas.
4) Only current eUS citizens or deployed members of the eUS military and eUS ambassadors may be selected.
5) Selection explanations are completely optional, but will be included, if appropriate, in the published results.
I urge you to vote this article up in order to capture as many responses as possible before publication of the results Friday, April 10th, 2009.
Thank you again for your participation!

An interesting idea, Ananias. I like how you're making it democratic this time instead of someone's opinion. (Like someone did a few months ago).
Voted. Now I need to start thinking about it. 😉
Thanks Tiacha! I love lists, and this may be helpful to many who are new to learn more about some of the major players and contributors to the eUnited States of America. The hard part will be to narrow it down to 5 that you choose 🙂.
Thanks Jeremy, if you could though it would be helpful not to sway any voters if you could edit out your list in the comments. Thanks so much!!
I think that Lowell already covered this
@Emerick - He did...4 months ago...I am trying to produce something more current and with more newer citizen feedback. Plus, his regarded importance rather than influence which is similar but not the same. Thanks for the comment!

Ouch, I don't even get a name mention here but you're sort of attacking what I did. To your actual point--more democratic is not better; it is just more of a popularity contest and less researched.

Right, influence and importance aren't the same--influence will provide more of a snapshot of the current perceptions of people, which will be interesting. And wow, it's really been 4 months?
Nevertheless, good idea, Ananias. Perhaps I should work on round 2.
Go for it Lowell, your original list was a great inspiration and one of the most informative series of articles that I ever read. Thanks for the effort, it contributed greatly to my understanding of eUS History through it's "power" players. Thanks for the comment and the encouragement.
great idea
It all depends on what are you are trying to measure, in terms of finding the current most influential Americans then popular vote would be best however if you want to find the all time most influential Americans its better to just have one guy or a small group doing it since if I were to mention the name Archibald, few people here would have any idea what that means.
@DesertFalcon - agreed. I was hoping to put together this survey as a method of allowing for a wider opportunity for citizens to voice their opinions rather than trying to produce a list that only those that had been around for awhile might be able to select from. I definitely agree that much of the feedback will be "popularity" based, but I also think that popularity and name recognition plays a major role in the ability to influence people and policy, postitvely or negatively. Finally, just as a side note, having had the opportunity to review the responses as they come in, I don't think there will be a lot of surprises to those that have been around awhile, but a few interesting names have cropped up repeatedly which, I think, lends creedence to the value of the survey.
Thanks for your comment!
I could not resist adding Michael Lewis as #5
I would tell you who I voted for but then again... I want to win.
/me should totally get the coveted #0
Voted.
Can't say I've really been around long enough to even know 5 though.. I can think of maybe 2. Nice adaptation to Lowell's previous article.
Sweet idea.
Lowell: "Perhaps I should work on round 2." Yes!
Check out the statistics here: http://erepstats.wikidot.com/ and see who the greatest american fighters are.
Aaargh. How can you pick 5? Case in point:
Justinious, Scrabman, Eugene Harlot, Leroy Combs, Kyle321n, Proggypop, Publius, Pearlswine, Emerick, MedyPi.
Now, try to cut half of those names, and don't think to hard about the other influential people. Aaaarrghh.
@One Eye-lol, I think that is a shared challenge, so many influential people so little space to name them all. Thanks for participating!
