Should we keep our current border when we can simply conquer all of Mexico and annex it? We need to expand our nation rather than continue on at our current size. To do otherwise in this war would just show weakness and that is what our current and future enemies will notice first.
If we just hand back everything we take, it will never stop them from any future attacks on our own territory, since they know we will just attack them and then return home and give all the territory back to them to start over and plan another attack.

Bad article, The Mexican peoples need and deserve their freedom, The US would be wise not to keep the land we take, This will pose very badly for our current congress, and president, they need to GO !

well, they approved this war. thats the first thing, we will see what else comes along that ruffles my feathers as well.
Well, conquest and blood lust are not considered positive attributes in international politics. But, the realist would say that the stronger country has every right to take over the weaker country (to increase the stronger country's security).
To counter that, an argument could be made that morality has to be a part of international relations and that the Polish goal is moralist.
But the cynics could always say that liberation is just an excuse and the real purpose is conquest...or to gain Mexico's natural resources.
So, that would have been a debate that would have been worthwhile and probably would have made for a better article...but what do I know...I can't even vote.

I believe Rick Astley actually specifically endorsed a US/Mexico war as early as 1989.
The lyrics you cited are a cleverly written code calling for attacks on Baja, NW, and NE Mexico.
I'm just glad we finally have WAR. Now, if the USA gains resources on top of that, I think I can live with that
Mexico has nothing of value for us. I dont see I need to hold their lands unless they show to have a habit of not being able to control them.
Mexico has repeatedly shown that they can't control their own gov't: Spanish, Goons, Poles. We need to annex Mexico. But the best reason to do so is that we then have a safe way for continous RW's for wellness and military training.
