Join the new world

After months and months of planning to join Canada, I finally have. I was with you guys when we were allies and when we were enemies. I was part of the resistance against Spain, the region rent deal with Netherlands, Poland's takeover, wars against USA and UK, the joining and break from Asgard, and finally the latest war where my home country, Netherlands, broke all ties and actively fought against Canada for the UK.

So, Who Am I?

I am a two time president of Netherlands, a permanent fixture in the government there, with a majority of my service being in MoD or MoF. I spent many months of my early career as a vMoD and later MoD where I was working with Canada and other allies fighting for EDEN. In the days before EDEN fell I was an aMC for a brief time where I really got a taste of global politics and all its pettiness. Eventually I ran for CP and lost, ran again and won where I led a very unsuccessful resistance against Poland. It was here that I realized Netherlands will always have the shadow of Poland hanging over. A few months later we signed a treaty with Poland, effectively giving up two of our regions and starting on a path that would rip us apart from most of our previous allies.

During this shift in alliances where Netherlands effectively became a puppet to Poland, I ran for CP again and won. I had decided to accept our fate, and worked towards placing us on a path to war with Asgard. We did our first Baja airstrike, setup our allies that would later become NSPP, and at the end of the term, beginning of the next term, we had a successful war against Asgard with NSPP. From there I took over MoF and for many months following I ran our finance department. I realized that even though I loved war and MoD, none of it is possible without good funding.

Recently I ran one last time for CP and lost. I did so because Netherlands has become completely inactive and boring. The players remaining refuse to make a change, and in fact my opponents entire campaign was promising not to implement any of the changes I was suggesting, claiming we should stay the course. He had a landslide victory. I realized that the country would not change and there was nothing left to keep me there, so I made the move to join Canada. What Are My Plans For Canada

When I choose a side I stick with it. For a very long time I was loyal to Netherlands and only Netherlands. You can expect that same mentality with Canada.

My first step is joining a political party. Ironically, almost every friend I have in Canada is spread out between all the top five parties. This makes it quite difficult for me to choose a party that will fit. Currently I am leaning toward CPF and MDP, but I'm willing to hear a case for all the parties. Next is joining a military unit. I cannot stay in my Dutch MU because our orders are to fight for UK against Canada. Clearly that isn't something I can do. I have already applied to Cordis Die, but I don't know too much about them or any other MU in Canada. In that regard I am pretty open to all suggestions. I'm looking for an MU that is active and fights for Canada and its allies at all times. Supplies aren't as important as a strong knit group of players.

Finally I plan on getting into congress and perhaps the government. I feel that with my extensive experience working for the government in defense and finance, alliances, etc. would be an excellent addition to Canada. I find enjoyment in this game by working for the government and shaping up the country as best I can for longterm resources and war. Because I really don't know too much about the current state of things here, I don't expect for this to happen for a little while.

UPDATE: I joined MDP. It's hard for me to know what's the best fit without testing things out, so I made a decision. If things don't work out or their policies don't quite matchup with what I was expecting, then I'll move somewhere else.
