I really don't think PEACE is the best option for us right now. At the very least, I think we should wait a bit, and not make any quick decisions.

If our government were to join PEACE, I think it would be against the wishes of most of the population.

Not so long ago every one seemed to agree that Peace was the evil alliance, have we lost so much self respect that we would even consider joining up with Peace?

There are no evil alliances, just one alliance and the other. And joining PEACE is not just about who is bad and who is good, its about what is the future of the country.

Could Canada ever stand on its own through bombardments from Indonesia and Hungary? NO. Could a new alliance with the US ever stand against PEACE, when it is just another ATLANTIS without the best country? No. Will Canada be able to survive if PEACE takes over the last Iron region we have left to import from in Spain? No, means no more weapons really.

You cannot think with whos good and who is bad on this one, you have to think of every other senario too. That is why there is a huge thought process that goes into this decision. Now as a congressman and a involved citizen I want to hear everybody thinking with their head instead of their d**k.

@The PEACE supporters; Guys, PEACE isn't going to hold together. They're to big and countries don't all get along. I mean, Hungary is messing with Russia, Indo was PTOed, Iran's mad at PTO, etc. PEACE members aren't completely happy.

If I admit I am fairly new to this game (little more than one month old) and that I am not so acknowledged about the stake of the alliances, I never considered that gigantic alliances are the best. Even when we were with ATLANTIS, I didn't feel that it was such a great thing. Now, I know that since it fell, PEACE is most likely going to eat the world, and that opposing countries will stand no long. However, I do not like so much the idea of being with them. I'd prefer stand for freedom with smaller alliances, hoping that the big breaks into smaller too, than to stand for PEACE...

Now, I know I may be wrong, these are just the thoughts of a month-old player! Thanks!

@ Huskerguy77 I am not a PEACE supporter, but there is no proof as to whether they will hold together or not. Yes Romania is pretty much back, but they are back with a vengance and feel betrayed by the former ATLANTIS nations, notably the US who did not use their massive man power to sway the Siberian battle. Other than that there are no garentees. We cannot make this decision on a maybe, thats why the possibility of PEACE falling apart does not fully apply.

@desdemona22: The new alliance wouldn't be "ATLANTIS Part II". It would consist of new members, some never part of ATLANTIS. It would be scaled down so it doesn't overextend, reorganize and possibly change its interests.

@Huskerguy77 What could we possibly add to the US, Canada, the UK, and Spain. Germany is being compromised by Sweden, Turkey still wishes to remain neutral, Romania is mad pissed at the US, and there are no other notable countries that can make a difference. Not to mention we don't need to be overextended to be threatened. Canada has a war with France that could trigger an invasion by all of PEACE at any time they wanted. The US may be safe, but Canada is already threatened by these borders.

VOTE NO TO PEACE NEW CONGRESSMEMBERS! Maybe the country supports this. They seem to have elected a congress that thinks this is a good idea.

I understand that, it is a strong valid point. In the short term, you will be offered more security tho.

However, as said, PEACE members can't completely get along. Say, PEACE County A has interests in Canada. However, if Canada joins PEACE, PEACE Country A may be pissed at PEACE and some guys. Simply, internal schisms could ereupt.

Also, keep in mind that if Canada would join PEACE, a US adversary, the US would feel threatened and I cannot gurantee that both countries would remain at peace.

It isn't a threat. I mean, what do you expect when two enemy countries border with each other? Security? Both countries would feel threatened and nervous and would feel that they would have to press the red button.

There was supposed to be a secret vote whether eCanada would join Peace or not after the election... Since I'm not in congress anymore, I wouldn't know if it passed...

Thank you huskerguy77 for answering my questions. My aim was not to make a case for PEACE, but to make sure that all eCanadians were well informed of both sides of the matter. One should not make a decision based on propoganda, which is all the average eCanadian citizen hears. I myself believe that we should not join PEACE, but those reasons for the most part have been stated and more will be stated in my up coming newspaper article.

@Huskergy77 There is a legal contract between the United States and Canada preventing a war, so that threat is pretty much eliminated unless you guys want to pay us 300 gold for attacking.

All CAF with my unit of 22e regiment just fought a war for Croatia against Hungarian invasion in Spain and now the congress propose to join those Hungarian and Indonesian who just recently try to take over eCanada 1 month ago. Tell me it's a joke!!

Canada's best defence against PEACE is first and formost to have a strong, active user base. In addition to this, we must endeavor to make allies out of their enemies. Lastly, we can't piss PEACE off so maybe they'll just foget about us up here in the cold north.

300 gold is not that much if you really wanted to start a war. Although one could also argue that it's eCanada that first broke that agreement by joining the enemy of eUSA first should we ever come to that.

Look at Germany for example of what happens when we flip flop a lot...

A UK, Spain, USA, and Canada allience sounds like a good option. Of course, that may not be enough manpower to take PEACE. Maybe we could wait until PEACE breaks apart as well?

@natashan Things change fast in this world. Remember we used to be strict enemies with the US and now we are good allies. Also the Hungarian take over was done by private citizens and not the government. And Indonesia nor Hungary ever attacked Canada, you only faught against them to help out Romania.

And the 300g is on top of the cost to start a war. That is a lot of gold and is a huge potion of our governmental budget.

@Tantis, I can't find it, and don't know where it is. It may have been suggested by a random person, but I can assure you that currently, the US doesn't plan to attack Canada.

We are allies and have MPPs. Many of us fought to help Romania and still do where possible. Yeah, maybe the US didn't send their army - but that was their foolish mistake.

There may have been a lot of rumblings and grumblings from wacky citizens that we should join PEACE, but it is certianly not the feeling of the marjority of Canadians, nor the Canadian government.

i have read into few other nations that want to start uprising in PEACE owned teritory, we can help them in there liberation efforts

eCanada doesn't want to join PEACE. I don't know where he got the idea that we'd ever join them.

if the government wants to vote on this they should

1) make it public who voted for PEACE so we can not elect them again

2) put it to a public vote so we the people can decide NO

Guys ? Why don't we just give PEACE a chance ?

For eCanada to join PEACE it likely mean a few things:
1) Disarmament agreement
2) Placing a wedge between us and our closest ally, the USA
3) Low vote of the PEACE nations, if any vote at all
4) A show that eCanada is weak, by simply joining the side that is the strongest at the time.
5) Possibly taxes or other money/gold contribution for being at war with PEACE for so long.

Joining PEACE is not a viable option for eCanada and should not even be considered.
