A government update...

Day 2,750, 07:16 Published in Australia Canada by Ilene Dover

Listen up citizens! I hear people have been bitching about a lack of information. So, be careful what you wish for...

Internal affairs

This month, there has been some movement in tax rates. Up, down, sideways, and any other cardinal direction you can imagine.

This may have confused you at the time, and should have been better communicated as and when it was going on. Since it is never too late to explain actions, we (the government) were experimenting with our mix of work tax, VAT and import taxes.

This experimentation was because there was no longer a Rusty D, Esq. able to fund government. For those not in the know, Rusty paid two-thirds to three-quarters of government's costs from his personal back account. While laudable and excellent in intent, it left our tax base woefully depleted when he left government.

We believe the current mix is equitable and caters to all playstyles. If you disagree, please, state your case on the forum.

Foreign affairs

Prior to the Turkish airstrike, we (again, the government) had re-negotiated the region rental with Peru. The rent, for both Queensland and the NT, has increased substantially from previously. Please don't quote me, but the last mention I saw was around the 25k mark. Monthly, including back taxes.

That means, please, FFS, fight for Peru in any resistance war that might crop up. It's worth crazy money to rent these regions that we don't need.

Moving on to alliance issues... We are currently proposing an airstrike against Denmark. This is an alliance requested action. To the best of my knowledge, this action is in support of the Dutch. The Dutch are under pressure from the Germans and are prospective Nebula members.

Now, what does that have to to with the Danes? Denmark unified with Germany under the German flag along time ago. The fact a little bit of Denmark popped out of Germark (as the combination calls itself) is an opportunity that we can exploit. Denmark has no allies, no government, no nothing. We can land an airstrike, and then progress a campaign against Germany in relief of the Netherlands.

I'd also like to add, please, thank your FA department at every opportunity you get. We've survived another month without an MTO (that's where a Military Unit takes over as unwanted dictator) or being wiped. For eAustralia, this is a wonderful achievement!
