10% Work Tax Myths Debunked
Hampton H. Hampton
Good Afternoon,
Today’s article has been created to debunk the excuses that were made in response to yesterday’s article as to why the 10% Tax rate is junk.
First, there was the excuse of, “They have more people so they can have a lower tax rate.” Ok, let’s look into that with some stats right here on eRepublik. I will take the top 8 countries as far Power Rankings:
Country - Tax Rate - Population
Argentina - 7 - 6774
Chile - 5 - 4032
Greece - 5 - 3210
Turkey - 3 - 4283
Republic of China - 3 - 1429
Poland - 4 - 6736
Bulgaria - 3 - 3434
USA - 10 - 4439
So that excuse is crap, two countries with more people than us, and if you want to be picky I’ll even say that Chile and Turkey are basically a tie with us. So 5 countries doing more with less or basically the same people AND lower taxes.
Next excuse, “They have huge bot nets” Ok, so? In the end we have more people, which = more tax revenue which should = more power, but alas, no, our tax money is too mis-managed for that. So the big bot farms supply the gov’t with free WRM and Tanks so they can fight. You’re telling me we have no communes or people who donate WRM/Tanks here in the eUSA? Besides, if I am an enemy of Greece and they are occupying my regions I would be working very hard to get the bot/multis banned, just like we do here in the eUSA.
So that excuse is bad.
Next, “They have credit card heroes” They do, and so do we, Legend Has it Henry Pluffer Arundel donated 500 gold worth of CC to the gov’t, and in no way is he the only gold buyer/donator. If China has 1400ish people and we 4400ish people, common sense ratios would tell you that we have more gold buyers than them. Canada has credit card Hero’s out the wazoo these days, but they are not dominating the world. So that’s not a good excuse either. Again, the problem is the money we have is not being used properly.
I like this excuse, “They don’t have a War Chest Fund” Ok, they don’t, that’s nice, they don’t seem to need one or care to get one. We, however, have one. It has 10 million CC in it. It’s full, so lower the taxes already. When you fill you car with gas and the tank is full you don’t keep pump to have some more for later? No, you stop and move on. And again, with 500 gold in donations coming in at a time of need, do we need a War Chest? It’s time to stop the high tax and move on. Also, where is that money going now anyway?
Lastly, “We give the money back to you in handouts and CO’s” Well, the people paying a majority of the taxes are not new players, so they don’t get handouts., and they shouldn’t need them, but don’t take people’s money and tell them your going to give it back to them when there is no way in hell you ever will. The CO’s, well they are not an everyday thing, and shouldn’t be, but CO’s that pay people back what they put in are few and far between. This leads to a secondary excuse of “We can’t win wars without CO’s, so we need the tax money for those” This again speaks directly to my point that the gov’t is completely disorganized and mismanaged if we can’t win a battle without a $10 per mill CO with the fire power we have, so sad.
So there are the big excuses/myths as to way we MUST HAVE the high tax rate, all debunked. I would like to see it at 5%, however I will settle for 6%, any higher is a slap in the face of the people who really pay the tax and help build this country.
On a side note, I’d like to address the insults I directed towards Kemal Egrongrouten (spelling?) It was mostly in response to his article a few days earlier in which he threw a tantrum and called everyone names for disagreeing with the 10% work tax. He lives on a rather high horse and could stand to come down a few notches. The “theft” of the treasury, well unfortunately the eUSA has a long history of that dating back to Ole Harrison Richard’s several terms as PotUS and that gang. The current gang has been in place a long time now and we are getting the same results as before, so it’s kind of a “quacks like a duck looks like a duck is a duck” thing. Do I have proof? No. Are the signs? Yes. And that’s how investigations begin, with signs.
Vote for parties that will lower the tax this month, it’s not needed and the time has come to change that. We don’t need the gov’t to take our money and then tell us they will give it back to us later in some other form. Let us keep our money and build ourselves up into something, buy tanks, become war hero’s, save up cash to expand our companies and so on.
Also, thanks to whomever bought all those votes yesterday, money well spent, good debate.

Curious - Which parties support lower taxes? Which parties support the status quo?
DavidWilson wrote a summary of Congress's recent proceedings w.r.t. the work tax. It's fairly impartial.
http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-congress-working-on-the-work-tax--2400874/1/20
But quick answer to your question: USWP, WTP, AMP are for status quo & Feds are kinda progressive. I'd like to say that we (TBSP) are as well, but we'll see. We're definitely not down with the present state of affairs.
http://www.erepublik.com/en/party/libertarian-party-2467/1 is a relatively small party, yet we actively support lower taxes to be competitive with the world.
Here is a vote breakdown, by party, for the vote to not ignore the law that was currently in place, and to immediately lower the WT to 8% https://mediacru.sh/awRvAQ4grJqP.png
And here is the breakdown of the vote to repeal the Fiscal Solvency Protection Act, which stated that when the reserve reached 10Mcc, the WT would automatically be lowered (should have been, at least)

How many of those raw numbers voted? That's a better gauge of activity, not eRep's reported populations.
Well, that would depend on these massive armys of bots.
But I agree, eRep inflates the crap out of their population numbers.
I'm active and i typically don't vote, so there are those people too...
Then offer both as a statistical guide. If you found correlation between the two sets of numbers then it would reinforce your argument.
I can see your point, and I'll I'll do some research.
Thank you.
I can help with population stats. One conclusion from my recent report is that eUSA officially pays more ta😜er capita than any other country in the game. We are the #1 over-taxed country.
Wise piggy is wise.

"In the end we have more people"
Our "population" is a facade. We don't have nearly as many daily fighters and our eGov citizen count is maybe half of the number you provided.
We're closer to 1000 citizens online every day.
"It has 10 million CC in it. It’s full."
A War Chest is never full because you never know how much you'll actually need. Ten million could suffice for a whole war, or it may only win 10 big battles. I played a game called CyberNations. In that game you were advised to have over a billion dollars in a war chest, at least, if you were a nation of decent size. However, it was just a bare minimum. There was no maximum suggestion and there never should be.
A War Chest should not have a specific maximum threshold as much as it should have a minimum suggested amount. You never know how much you'll need in the end.
A law was written to raise taxes to fill that chest, that law has been repealed, the taxes were not lowered, now where does the money go? Because, according to the law (or lack there of), it's not to the War Chest.
Do we need a law on the books to have a war chest? Is the monetary reserve, used for funding wars, not a war chest? Should Congress rename the reserves as the "war chest" in order to make things clear?
There was one. It's transparency, people want to know why their tax is so high and where it is going. It was going to a War Chest that was a law, that law ended, where is the money going now? If its nowhere then lower the tax.
The money is going to the Financial Reserves as appropriated in the monthly budget and accounted for in the Constitution and Code of the eUS.
The reserves can be tapped into by Congress for technically any purpose like war funding, or by the Select Committee on Intelligence for the purpose of funding battles.
Also, again, statistical ratios would prevail that the numbers are inflated for the other countries too. So if we are less, they are less, perhaps not to the same %, but fact is eRep inflates population numbers, not just for the eUSA, but for everyone. So if you are going to say we have less, then you must concede that they have less as well.
I think a quote from Churchill applies here
‘Gentlemen, We Have Run Out Of Money; Now We Have to Think’
For example could we have gotten Baja cheaper than involving Netherlands?
Would the rules allow just letting the MPP with Mexico lapse take Baja and then sign new MPP?
Are you really trying to compare CYbernations to this? No wonder we ran you out lol.
You are still misspelling my name intentionally and still implying that I am a thief. Hence you lose all your rights to an answer. I reported your article again, but I am sure the eRep admins will again show how unbiased they are and not delete your article with insults, whereas mine got deleted for the word "dam*" (which is a word that New Yorkers saw as the name of a party in local elections, and it wasn't considered vulgarity).
Have fun.
I tried to spell it, even noted that I may have spelled it wrong, My bad. But I really could not be bothered to go looking around for the correct spelling, your just not worth my time.
Have Fun
Oh, and I didn't call you a thief, I simply explained why I have suspicions.
I also think it is HILARIOUS that you report articles simply because they are not of your point of view. I think you need to see someone, I mean that article you wrote you screamed at everyone for not agreeing with you, now you want articles removed for not agreeing with you.
Are you Kim Jung-Un in RL?
accusing or even implying that Kermal is a thief destroys your credibility. You have destroyed your own argument with these idiotic accusations.
In addition. you don't even need to put Kermal's last name in an article if you can't spell it. The vast majority of people know who he is.
No accusing, maybe a little implying, you got me there. But as far as idiotic accusations go, no I'm right on. It's a known fact, by many of their own volitions, that they stole from the Treasury. And Pfeiffer has recently stated that it still happens, couple that with the vast wealth that Kamal has accrued, without buying gold, and you would have what they call in the IRS as a "Audit Alarm" a big loud buzzing one.
That's all, just sayin.
type "kemal" into the search and see what happens. Also it's "Kemal" not "Kermal" see how easy it is to make a spelling mistake?
You still do not get that SecTreas handles no money, and continue to imply that I am a thief. What a joke...
1. Spell his name right or don't even put it in. It's offensive that you keep spelling it wrong.
2. Kermal has no access to gov'n funds to steal them so drop it. If others have then fine go after them but your implications or accusations against Kermal are baseless and make you look idiotic even though I know you are not. You are weakening your argument by even bringing Kermal's name into it at all. You need to drop it, go a different direction with your argument/discussion or you will lose ALL credibility in my eyes.
Also I am not saying your base accusation is idiotic. I am saying (rather clearly) That your implication against Kermal is idiotic
I'm not spelling it wrong, it is literally "Kemal" there is no letter "R" in his first name see for yourself:
http://www.erepublik.com/en/citizen/profile/2361887
sorry Kemal I keep putting Kermal in.. my auto settings. I just invalidated my argument on that point. but the rest of my points still apply
I know I meant his last name but either way that part of my argument is invalidated now.
But explain something to me. How do you defend your implicating Kemal as a thief when he has no access to funds.
More lies. More insults. Hampton has demonstrated a remarkable lack of character in these articles. EZC needs a new 2nd commander.
They Caught Al Capone by getting a hold of one of his book keepers, the guy who made it all look legit.
One of Kemal's job's is it not? Start with the book keeper types and follow the trail from there. It will be a long trail, but we will get there, in the meantime, let's lower that work tax rate shall we?
Sooooo what you're saying is it's a conspiracy and Kemal is the bookkeeping mastermind? http://tinyurl.com/oejds6q
HEHE, this is funny. best articles of all times. Kim Jung-Un is my closer friend in middle school, unfortunately he was attracted by women and left all his male friends. He can have some fun with the AIDs
I reported your article because you misspelled my name intentionally as an insult, just like the previous article.
Nope, I really thought that was it, as I said, I did note the fact that it could be misspelled, no insult intended.
Please accept my sincerest apologies for meaning so little to me that I cannot remember your name, I promise to try harder in the future to find some value in you enough to give me reason to bother.
Thank you
Yeah, bro. That must be it.
It`s his MO. Whenever he doesn`t like something, he throws a fit.
You know what else got debunked? YOUR MOM!!!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tenshibo is ~16. We have to be aware of his lesser mental capacity when we read his posts.

Yesterday you implied Pfeiffer was the biggest thief of all with your comment, "Says the leader of sticky hands club... "
To support your argument today you single out Pfeiffer as a gold buyer donator with, "Legend Has it Henry Pluffer Arundel donated 500 gold worth of CC to the gov’t, and in no way is he the only gold buyer/donator"
So which is it, is he a thief or a donator?
So far, all I've read is accusations, with no facts, no evidence, faulty/incomplete research of statistics, and purposely misspelling people's names to insult them. Too bad this isn't RL you'd sell tons of newspapers.
If votes were sales.....
To be honest, HPA is a traitor, you know, the whole UK CS while were being wiped by them. And that there, is a fact.
This article is getting lots of votes. That should tell the politicians something.
I hope.
That someone bought votes from the voter's club? Yeah, we already know that.
