[WYD] State of the Two Clicker; TFD and Food Giveaway (Day 5134)

Day 5,134, 06:25 Published in Canada Canada by Addy Lawrence

Forward…

Its easy to write articles if you are in the loop and have a relevant place in the game environment. It’s been a hell of a long time since I’ve had that so I find writing articles difficult now. Its been a while since I wrote regularly. Now, as an under-leveled division 4 fighter playing a 24/7 game during banking hours only, I am pretty much resigned to two-clicking my way along until they turn out the lights. Fortunately, SantaMann has come up with a campaign to generate activity and player engagement that I can sink my teeth into. I hope you enjoy my short series of articles that serve as my contribution as a participant in the eCan Winter Olympics.

On Tyler F. Durden…

In my citizen profile, you will find three links. Two were there when I left the game years ago, the third was added upon my return. These three citizens have had a profound impact on my elife. This forms the “golden finger” component of my article, the meat and potatoes if you will, so that you get something more out of this than an inducement for endorsements and comments, but don’t worry, there will be some of that too.

I met Tyler F Durden in the CPF early on in my elife. We hit it off famously. He was one of the few reasons why I would go on IRC when that was a thing. He was very politically active and charismatic despite the limitations of this browser game. He competed fiercely in politics, debating on e-Can forums and in the media. He had great articles with great source images poking fun at political adversaries. He was a “meme-hipster” if you will as meme culture was in its infancy back then.

We partnered on a lot of political initiatives as well as military ones. We were quite a tandem as I offered a logical objectivity and economic approach to game theory wheras he offered a passionate approach to the game focused on “game mechanics”. Mechanics > role play. That was a common refrain. The common denominator between us was that we took the game the same way; the victory was in the battle and not the outcome.

We locked horns with DAL and key members of DAL many times. Many, many time. I won’t bring up names and specifics for fear of feeding the trolls, but these were some of the most fulfilling times I had in this game. These were genuine emotional struggles and conflicts, well e-genuine.

Tyler was defeated in a CP election. It was a particularly dirty smear campaign. Tyler’s account went inactive about a month later when the RL person behind the avatar, Christopher Emerson Day, died in a car accident.

A final note about Tyler, he was infamous for fighting without weapons. He was proud of the fact he earned his Field Marshall rank in a bare-fisted manner. He did the best that he could to provide others with food and weapons so that they could fight in the causes that he believed in. He also had a supply of moving tix for those who would cast votes in support of his cause.

On a Q7 Food give away…

I will be giving away 25 baskets, each with 1,000 Q7 food, and I ask you to consider using some of them to fight bare fisted at some point during the eCan Olympiad.

The baskets will be donated to the first 25 eCan citizens who comment on this article with: “In Tyler We Trust”.

Shameless Plug, Son

My strength and rank suck, this is the only level playing field I have in this Olympiad. I could really use some $100 cc endorsements. I’d be much obliged if you would indulge me with some support.

Major props to SantaMann for hosting this Olympiad.

Major props to dillpickl, Exalted Druid, Wilhem Klink, kippers, Napolean54 and Karl004 for their in-game activity and keeping eCanada on the rails and on the map. You players make this game worth two-clicking for.

Above all else, keep your guitar in tune.
