[TWO] The future of our world

Day 2,177, 05:57 Published in Hungary Hungary by TWO Alliance

Before I delve into this mess, I should add what I am writing is not on behalf of TWO, nor any TWO country. This article does not affect the ongoing existence of TWO in any way; we are more than happy to own the world for now. However, with Chile and Bulgaria finally accepting reality and finalising the death of CoT, its time to don the hat of realism and accept reality.

As with the tone of my last article, I write this as a player of eRepublik, not as the leader of an alliance. The death of CoT is long overdue, because they lost so long ago, and of course, have no chance (or real will) to try and change the global order. TWO is a fitting name, because, the World really is ours.

Of course, change always happens. Several TWO and ACT nations have already begun discussions in their Governments and Congresses, about the future. I will not name names, because my role is to represent all members of TWO and ACT; not to keep them somewhere they don't want to be, or undermine their efforts to leave, but rather, to ensure whilst they are proTWO, they are supported.

We find ourselves in changing tides. Countries that assume the next alliance shift will be an evolution, with a few proTWO becoming antiTWO, are sadly mistake. We are in for what could turn out to be another paradigm shift with, at least relying upon what I have seen so far, a few surprises along the way.

My message to all countries, TWO, ACT, CoT, unaligned, or whatever useless 'other' alliances still claim to exist, is quite simple. There are relationships which have been around longer than most players. Whilst its true that these relationships are beneficial in the present, they are justified in the past. A big change is not necessarily something which should be avoided, especially in a landscape where huge changes are necessary to balance the order of the world.

Plato isn't going to make the game more fun. Long time allies, or enemies, changing their stance and trying out something new, however, is. Who doesn't want to see a return to megawars where its the world versus the world, with countries mobilising themselves and fighting with everything they can muster? In todays war, that is no longer necessary. TWO this month, and for many months previous, has been cruising at best. Reserves in most countries have continued to grow, prize money from competitions untouched and unneeded. CoT countries also have saved huge amounts, because of their choice to fight for a few days around congress elections, instead of every day.

So we have the resources in many countries. We have the will across the world for something new. Its a chance for us, the players, to actually stand up and deliver. Do not expect new modules, economic changes or military strategy to be forthcoming. We can have fun, but it is fun that must be encouraged and made by ourselves. Perhaps Plato will offer some improvements, but the history of eRepublik shows, the only positive changes we can rely on, are changes we make ourselves.

So please, for the love of god. Don't allow yourselves to approach the next shift in terms of 'we must follow ___', 'we cannot be with ___'. This lunacy killed EDEN, ensured ONE wouldn't last, and ensured Phoenix was doomed from the day it was envisaged. Chile and Bulgaria's folly and ignorance of those mistakes, ensured that against the might of TWO, with their playtoy 'CoT', it was simply a matter of time before it all became undone. Open minds, open up opportunities you never thought were possible. Just ask Greece how giving new friends a chance worked out.

I am not writing this article with any malicious intent. This is not a covert way of HQ showing Presidents that we know what is going on, nor is it a way to try and stop what some countries have already begun. Before the release of this article, this has yet to be discussed at all within TWO. Why am I chosing to do this so publicly and via an article without prior discussion? Because whilst I may be SG, you'd have to be a nutjob to think that the status quo is going to last. There is no will even within TWO, to win indefinitely. Changes will inevitably happen. We can try and stand in the way, and delay them, but all that is doing is prolonging the monotony of beating a dead horse.

The negotiations for change will not be easy, and if paradigm changes do occur, they won't seem palatable to some. To those, I say, do us all a favour and go away for a few months. To the incoming Governments and discussing Congresses who have already begun these debates, I cannot stress enough that whilst my term as SG is almost over, I have no intention of impeding, subverting or persuading you to do anything other than what you feel you must. The war was over many months ago, the challenge evaporated even before that. Your search for a future with actual challenges is actually something I admire and find courageous; to sit back and rule over our world with ease is fun in some respects, but its not the same as a real fight.

Yours, and inb4impeach
