[TG] New Medals?

Dear readers,
The last couple of days we have been debating about whether we wanted to add new medals or change the requirements for the existing ones. till now, there have been 2 proposals, and I wanted to ask you, which one you like the most. Please leave your opinion in the comment section

Andreas Isaksson's proposal:
Add new medals at the bottom, and change the requirements of the top ones. For both the Military and the Political medals

odan's proposal:
Add medals on top, and change 'Ridder Grootkruis' to 'Ridder Grootkruis 3e klasse' with other requirements. Only for the Military medals.

1: don't downgrade current medals. I personally don't care about renaming, but replacing medals by one which have different requirements feels weird.
2: TP influence is meaningless. Of course there are important battles for eNL, but making TP influence to impotent will more or less make it required to fight a lot in useless TW battles.
3: don't have to many medals near the top. They should be spaced by like factors 2 in requirements.
4: solve the lifetime loyalty. It cannot be verified and we don't really want to enforce it.

But if you don't want to downgrade, you must have more medals on the top 🙂
TP damage is for noobs. Downgrading peoples' medals is against the law, and 20M damage 3 years ago is just as impressive as 1B is today, if not more.
Yes, but: 20M the years ago is no guarantee you're still fighting for eNL. 😛
No, but I meant, if someone got the highest possible award based on damage that was high at that time, he should keep the highest medal and not a lower one when the requirements change.
The hardest medal had requirements which were virtually impossible when it was designed. Since that time the energy regen has gone up, damage boosters were introduced, etc.
Now a lot of people managed to get the top medal, which was clearly not as impossible as it was designed. I guess, I'd argue that the medal they got really wasn't really the one they deserved. Instead they deserved a lower medal, perhaps one of those new ones?
The law can be changed. Should be if matters change but to some that seems very hard. And yes 20m was impressive a while back. People that made 20m back then make a lot more nowadays so they shouldn't worry about medals being downgraded. If they don't fight for us anymore it's unlikely they bother. Perhaps even left the game. There is no point in not changing matters just because someone, sometime, got an achievement. The only people it could "hurt" are the ones that did quit for a year or so due to which they can't keep up anymore. To bad, their choice, take the loss, don't whine and try to catch up again if you really bother.
What you do sounds a bit like a weightlifter having set a record, quit the sport 5 years and after returning questioning the fact his record being broke being just. Stating his record should still be the actual one as it was impressive when he set it....
I understand your argument, but I am saying that the previous changes to the medals didnt mean his record was broken, those changes made it look like he never set an impressive record to begin with.
I want the people who have a ridder grootkruis already to keep theirs, instead of getting downgraded. New people should meet the new requirements.
Also, it is high time for new political medals. Those requirements haven't changed in years. We should set Ridder Grootkruis at 150 points.

I've looked at your proposal on my pc now. It really has way too many medals. Why? It lacks the exponential scaling.
For the political medals currently we have
5 - easy
15 (3x) - medium
30 (2x) - hard
50 (~1.7x) - hard
Anything new that should be added should maintain such a scaling between ~1.7 and 3 times. So the least you should propose for a medal above 50 mp is 85 merit points. The easiest is probably 100 and 200 like I wrote below. Nice round numbers, and definitely the 200 will pose a tough challenge for a long while... The next one above it would really be something unimaginable right now.
I don't get the reasoning djirtsdew. We have an exponential scaling and you state the new one lacks it (haven't checked it on mobile) yet you claim it should keep the exponential scaling but also it should be between 3-1.7 which is the opposite...
That's a way more relevant point. At least more merit points is definitely better.
Maybe a medal at 100 and one at 200 though?
@Andreas: I'm not interested in combi packages. I'm not convinced that even more TP influence based medals are better. These political medals make a lot of sense. Also I'm not opening that link on my phone. 😛
I'm not entirely sure if even I would qualify for the 200 points so far, and I've been going at it for the majority of 5 years. Would give people something to really strive for though.
