Join the new world

Lana was sitting on a chair at the office with a gun. Only 2 bullets were left, and she had no idea who took her Desert Eagle and made other shots.

At the same floor as Lana , three or four desks further, Mike, a fellow colleague of her's, between the periods when he was typing some nonsense lines of code or looking at his phone if someone called, had a moment blackout, more like a daydream; a smell of pine, a mountain cabin on a day of summer, the sound of a pack of wolves howling not far away, two squirrels fighting just in front of him for a mushroom. He takes few steps on the right careful not to disturb them, get's on his knees while slowly pulling a Desert Eagle from his backpack, aim's at the two squirrels while admiring their reflection on the side of the gun, closes his left eye, takes a deep breath holding all the air in his lungs, finally pulling the trigger.
Not once, but two times! The squirrels were gone, gone as Mike snapped out of the daydream.

Or was it a daydream? Mike looked around to make sure no one had noticed his little "episode." He certainly hoped Lana hadn't.
