Good morning gentlemen,

A hearty congratulations to ML on winning the Speakership. It has been an honour to have served our community Parliament the last 2 months and whilst there have been a few routine headaches I hope I leave the job slightly more mollified than I found it.

If you haven’t accepted his friend request then do so promptly so he can re-make the Parliamentary threads.

As a last act I note some MPs simply cannot get along in the same group – if you drop Michael a message with your grudge he may be kind enough to help you avoid them!

Speakership Elections

As per convention I require some of our more bulky MPs to force ML into the Speaker’s chair. I’m sure the whole House will join me in wishing him the best of ‘legislative luck’!

2nd Malta Committee

As always it’s great to see people still interested in doing a proper jobsworth for a change. Members of this powerful committee will be ‘steering and scrutinising’ Government now more than ever….

Budgets

We are quickly approaching the usual campaign season for Country President, and with it comes the standard budget discussion and vote. If you’re thinking of running then please either message Michael Ludgate or post here in the comments with your financial proposals for the month.

Bear in mind even if you win you won’t get a penny until Parliament gives the nod!

I wasn't in congress and you must feel silly. When you lot on #IRC do as you please did no one even have an idea to use CO and all the money they Hide, the people losing out will be the country I saw we made 28,000 one day yesterday it was 6000 i think it might go to 8000/9000 after the dust sets but this is still losing the country 50% tax a day x that my 365 and its a huge lose not to mention the fact it very inconvenient for our supplies now I have 300 companies to move .

What is worst is no planning I speak to others who countries knows what they are doing and we dont .

Thank you Sir Humphrey Appleby, I'd like to reiterate the appreciation of your service that is evident even to someone only in their 2nd term of congress. Your counsel is always welcome and I'm sure you'll return to the post in the future.

As Speaker, I'd like to make a point of addressing first, as it so vital to our legitimacy, the issue of internal congress relations. Whilst I have no desire to introduce formal speak to congress, I will pursue those with flagrant disregard for others. Congress is not the place for either petty attacks, squabbling or character assassinations. The country is watching and it hinders both progress and enjoyment for those us who partake in the political module. Everyone should feel valued and free to share and discuss.

The groups will be re-established this evening, your patience is appreciated. Lastly I'd like to point out that while it's my job to be impartial, it's no longer Appleby's; I pray you'll benefit us all by enjoying this freedom.

Submitting provisional budget

Predicted income ~£7,000*31days = £217,000 (highly volatile however, will update more accurately after a chat with Huey)

Predicted expenditure ~£120,000/£190,000 (11 MPPs peacetime, 18 during hostilities). Request additional authorization for use of £70k emergency MPP budget in event of war. Potentially 10k for the MoHA depending on the stability of tax income.
